And nah, I don't hate it. I'm just not very fond of this pairing. Nothing against Dudley, but Kitty I believe deserves a really special guy in her life.
Honestly, I actually don't mind it as a romantic tease. I even showed in my G.U.N Kitty fic where Kitty pretended to flirt with Dudley in order to keep an enemy from getting suspicious of what she was really doing.
If you like Kudley, that's cool.

Yea, I know he's a knucklehead, but Knuckles to his credit at least takes things seriously when it comes to fighting for the important things in life.
He and Kitty would make quite a duo if they ever worked together.
As for Dudley, he too can be serious about stuff, but sadly has too much of a carefree and happy go lucky personality.

Hmmmm. My TUFF persona is a weapons specialist, dealing with ancient and modern weapons, is a purple belt in mixed martial arts, and is a big movie buff and hardcore gamer. He collects action figures, too. ^^
So, yeah, he's a bit of a nerd, but Kitty thinks he's cool enough, and he's bested her in a sparring match at TUFF. So, I think he'd be perfect for her. ^^
