Description
"in ever inanimate object, there is a little life"another piece in my natural materials work. pendant acctually holds water and has various sized holes drilled in the top to accomodate different plant life. when this was on display, over the course of three weeks, i found it also interesting to watch the plant through its stages of life and death while still in the pendant on display. by the end of the show it had shriveled and turned dark and drooped over the edges, that was also very interesting. im still kinda mad i didnt take a picture of that. entire piece is made from sterling, tip of pendant and arms to hold it are sandblasted.

This has great contrasting elements to it - nature and steel. This is so fascinating!

Awesome idea. And you know, if that plant is what I think it is, its edible and pretty tasty.

Interesting necklace!
I've seen live plants used as focal points in jewelry before but this design has much more wearability to it than the others I've seen in the past.

Really nice. I had made a stickpin what also held a few small flowers when I was ten or so, out of copper pipe and soldered brass wire. My mother never wore it because it was 'too heavy.' I can't say I blame her.
Nice work, very pretty and functional

This piece rocks. This is such a great idea and the execution of it is perfect. My favorite parts are the sandblasting details.

Way, way outclasses using a corsage pin or one of those pin-on plastic vases they use for orchids. And as *hermitchild says, it looks great on its own. I love original stuff like this.

The necklace would be pretty and striking enough all by itself! The little sprig of plant adds a whole level of beauty and symbolism to it. It's wonderful!

wow this is really cool... although i imagine the plant would tickle my neck if i wore that... and then i would slap the plant and it would die. but it's really cool. meloves.

I've seen tiny vases that stick to windows, but a necklace, that's pretty cool. A small bromiliad would be able to survive as a sort of portable houseplant, which would also be cool.

Interesting idea, just so you know your full views are really big you might want to try resizing them before you submit

Interesting idea. A piece of jewellry into which a small tender plant can be put for the sole purpose of temporary adornment and which slowly leads to the plant's death.
Poor lil plants.
"in every inanimate object, there is a little death"
Maybe you should use one of those air plants instead - the ones that only need a bit of earth (put that into the pendant?) and which take water only from the humidity in the air. Then they wouldn't die or at least, not easily die. Just a suggestion.
Aside from that, it's a very nice/pretty piece of jewellry.
