*points at yooo* There is really no need to get weird at people when you are uninformed!
The correct spelling is: 'FallschirmjΓ€ger', with dots. Yes, dots.
The correct spelling in case you don't have 'Γ€' with dots, is to write 'ae' in place of it, or 'Fallschirmjaeger', as McGibs almost wrote it. (He is still missing an L, though!)
This goes for every german letter with dots. If you don't have ΓΌ, write ue. No ΓΆ, write oe.
The added e replaces the dots to indicate the sound change which they produce. The pair of dots is also known in English by the german terminology: Umlaut. "Um" means around, "Laut" means sound. Together it means: "change the sound". Thus by implication, the Umlaut changes the sound of the letter it's on, and that affects how the word is pronounced. This could make a big difference in understanding. I mean, you probably wouldn't understand me if I was trying to talk about 'pain' but I instead said 'pawn'. So either way the Umalut, or respectively the added 'e', is an important key to using a word correctly. The letter 'a' is pronounced approximately like f'a'ther, and 'Γ€' is pronounced approximately like p'a'in. So make sure you use that e in the future, because Jaeger is a word, and Jager is not!
