Description
A dragon taking some time to enjoy the sunset on the Galapagos islands with a few Marine Iguana's resting below him. This was about 3 hours of pencil drawing and another 3 on Photoshop CS. I really like how this turned out and I hope you do to, so tell me what you all think.Related content

Wow, this is very beautiful. I love the way you did the clouds. They stand out, but not so much that they drown out the dragon and the iguanas. I also love how you've modeled the dragon's face to look somewhat like the iguanas' face. This is very beautiful and serene. Dragons are beautiful animals and great to draw. I've really got to draw more...any how, great job!

everythings is beautiful but I don't like the dragon's shadow in the water coz It did not look like the shadow. It look like U paste it on, that's all. Maybe a little wavy things can help??? Anyway, I like it

First of all, artdragondream, I love the way you created the sunset... it is so absolutely beautiful!!! But when you design the dragon in just such a way so as to be rather awesome-looking and reflecting against the light in the sunset, now you are getting TRULY EXCELLENT, you know what I am saying? 
Having said all of that, this is such a breathtakingly magical piece of work and then some, and I am *definitely* recommending this one. Period, end of the conversation.

I have to agree about the comments regarding the background; it looks like it was either generated or "enhanced" by Photoshop filters, which really kills the image, since the dragon looks so smooth with a lot of detail rendered by hand. The dragon also has a lot of graphite shading, which is completely lacking anywhere in the background, which interrupts any feelings of uniformity throughout the piece.
The head of the dragon is quite well done, but I can't help thinking that you borrow a lot of style and handling of dragon anatomy from Todd Lockwood. It's all well and good to take your inspiration from an artist you admire, but this looks almost like it might have been copied from one of his paintings (I'm not saying it WAS, just that it looks like it could have been, since the style of anatomy is such a dead ringer for Lockwood).

D&D red dragons have a much longer snout or muzzle and not as pronounced of a beak. Also depends on which edition D&D your talking about. Its changed over time. But if your talking Tod Lockwood all I can say is "Thank you!" Because his work is GOD and I could only dream to have stuff as good as his. But its still a lot different.

this is good although i probably wouldnt have used any filters for the background picture and the forground props, it kind of kills the image, coz the dragon is so nice. but the dragon itself is quite good.

I'd say try to work on your backgruonds a little. The roughness is cool, but it might be a little too rough, you know? Maybe make it just a tad smoother, especially the water. The dragon and Iguanas are beautiful though. ^^
