That sheen on his helmet and the pores and sweat; wow. The lines on his neck look rather regular, but I imagine he's a young man.

Definitely better than quite good bud, excellent. Do you have an A4 scanner and can you stitch them together, if you've got the scanner but not the software give me a heads up and i'll do them for you as i can get my A2s stitched from 8 separate pieces and it's no bother at all. Quality looks very good here though

Thanks Mark! My scanner though is a heap, in my haste even managed to buy one with ridges that wont allow any bigger than a4 scans, lol, what software do you use for stitching them together, I have photoshop, would that do?

That should do it, can't say for sure though as i've never used it but i bet it will. I use corell painter for mine, all A4 scans carefully pieced together and the edging gently erased to make it seamless. I just have to make sure they are well measured out on the borders so they fit together well enough after scanning.

Cheers Mark, I messed around with an old scan I had and think I should manage it with Photoshop, just need to pick up another scanner now that will let me scan in pieces, flatbed I think I need, its all a learning curve!

well thanks lol, thats what drew me to the ref pic in the first place rather than the more obvious choices. The drawing has its flaws but there's also progress, I'll concentrate on that lol

Wow. You have truly captured him. Excellent work. I understand what you mean about photo quality. All I have at my disposal is a camera phone.

Thankyou! I feel your pain, an a3 scanner is fairly expensive but its looking like I'm going to have to bite the bullet, my photo's pretty much flatten my drawings doing them no service at all, lol.
