With the past you are right.
ATARI was one the best and influential companies of the "Golden Age of Videogames". And the old games still rock today.
But for old-gamers ATARI "dies" 1996 
The new "atari"-games are only Infogrames-games with a other label.
I remember 2001 some people in retrogames forums wants to collect money to buy the label and give the back to Nolan Bushnell.
Although the new games are not bad.
As child of the 80's I'm very exciting about the new Ghostbusters-Games.
The Godzilla-Games are looking very good too, but they are not for PC and the only console I have is a ATARI 2600
