During the Earth-Romulan War the United Earth Starfleet and UESPA began developing the first warp 7 engine. A secret ship was constructed to test the engine, the Bonaventure. Here we see the SS Enterprise escorting her on her first highspeed run. The Bonaventure would eventually vanish in an area known as the Delta Triange on her third test run. Her fate wasn't discovered until 2269 by the crew of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701. With her loss Starfleet decided not to pursue the design but the engine was sound and used in Starfleet's next generation starships including the Daedalus class
