Lovely! *^*
Atmospheric as always. Never ceases to amaze me!
The trees are great! Did you paint them all by yourself?
Keep this up, you're part of my motivation~ <3

the one the left are photo
I shoot the photo on a clear sky, which can easily mask out the background.
and the dead trees on the right are 3D render with alpha.
But tt is possible to paint trees like that with the help of custom brush.

Oh, is that so? This masking thing is still a mystery to me... I don't understand a lot of it
So one of my next steps would be to create custom brushes for trees and leaves then |D
Ahaha, I'll give it a try... sometime. x'3
Still too many mysteries behind that technique

the masking are done base on image luminance, basically white are transparent, black are full opaque.
That why shooting a treeΒ (usually darker color)Β with a clear sky (usually brighther) is easier to do the mask.
but we will also need to adjust the levels/curves of the image to get a full white and black for a better mask.
