Description
Thanks to I found a script for 3D Studio Max for loading PMD models in it. [link]And I tried it...
1) Original model by
2) PMD converted in 3D Studio Max using that script. Will be saved in OBJ for Lightwave 3D.
3) Loaded in Lightwave 3D. Will be saved in LWO for Accutrans 3D.
4) Loaded in Accutrans 3D. Will be saved in OBJ for DAZ Studio.
5) Loaded in DAZ Studio.
6) Rendered in DAZ Studio.
Some textures need to be adjusted, and the bones must be done again from scratch. But for now seems working...

That's a great way to recycle Anime hair that is so rare nowadays. I did the same in my last 2 renders, outsourcing from Metasequoia. ^^

well, that is a long workflow for a conversion. if it works it works though. hard to tell but does it preserve uv maps? also, what is the polycount like of the mmd converted figure?

...well, maybe it's possible to export from MAX directly in OBJ for Daz Studio, I have to try it too...
Yes, most of the maps are preserved. There's a button in the script's panel to check it.
96% of MMD's models are in PMD format, and this format does not permit more than 64000 polygons, so...
(...that's why latest version of MMD support the new PMX format, that doesn't have that limit...)

I know that there's a script for importing MMD files into Blender...
But they're only for the very old versions. No one's seemed to bother to make one for Blender 2.5

...plus the fact that I can't use Blender^_______^;;;;
(...I can't use 3D Studio Max too, but I use it only to convert models...)

Su MMD ci sono un'infinita' di ottimi modelli Anime, ma fino ad ora erano confinati li'... ora finalmente qualcosa comincia a muoversi per l'esportazione
