Description
Thanks to I found a script for 3D Studio Max for loading PMD models in it. [link]And I tried it...
1) Original model by
2) PMD converted in 3D Studio Max using that script. Will be saved in OBJ for Lightwave 3D.
3) Loaded in Lightwave 3D. Will be saved in LWO for Accutrans 3D.
4) Loaded in Accutrans 3D. Will be saved in OBJ for DAZ Studio.
5) Loaded in DAZ Studio.
6) Rendered in DAZ Studio.
Some textures need to be adjusted, and the bones must be done again from scratch. But for now seems working...

I have heard rumors, that Daz Studio 4.0 would be able to load MMD model files directly, or at least with way less programs to go through, is that true?
Can you explain please? I'm a total beginner. .___.

Unluckily, it can't load them directly. You have to use a script for loading PMD files into some major 3D programs (Lightwave, 3DStudio, Blender...) and then save it as an OBJ file, or you have to use the latest PMDEditor and export the model as an OBJ file.
In both the ways you will lost morphs, rigging and physics, and you'll have to do them again

Aw man that sucks. .___.
Thanks for the information though! ^^
It seems easier to convert Daz models into MMD models than the vice versa...

I can see that. I'm quite a MMD fan and it would have been awesome to import my favorite models into Daz.
Well I guess I can still create my own MMD-like models in Daz right? Or draw stuff directly into the program? o_o

Well, yes, with the "content creation tools" (For now they are free) you can adapt dresses and accessories for the DAZ Models (Genesis model above all!)

I got a plugin to load MMD models directly into Lightwave, so now less programs

The third screencap looks so fine, her skin color, her hair, both look gorgeous. That's very unfortunate that in the next screencaps her skin color turned darker and somehow unnatural.

Yep... I have to look for better ways to convert the LWO in OBJ :/

Solo come output con un costoso plugin poco affidabile... lo stesso che dovremo sperimentare per Unity^________^;;;;;

π: 0 β©: 1
MCMXC2 In reply to Fonpaolo [2011-08-19 14:07:39 +0000 UTC]

...forse ho sentito parlare di questo programma di conversione... e credo di aver anche letto che "il risultato con MAX non e' comunque garantito"^____^;;;
