I love alliteration.Rarity and Spike go spelunking in search for gems, Rarity finds them, Spike digs them up. Although, Spike is getting kind of hungry...
I made this because I wanted to improve my shading skills. Well, I'd say they've improved alright. Using just Rarity's horn as a light source was pretty difficult to make out at times, but I think I pulled it off.
Also, a spinel is a type of gemstone, look it up.
My Little Pony, Spike, and Rarity are property of Hasbro.

Thanks, I intentionally went over-the-top with shading for this one. If it's worth doing in the eyes of learning something, it's worth overdoing.
And yes, it's a 2D drawing. Sketched on paper, inked, colored, and shaded digitally.
