Description
Words:
"Hello? Yes, this is Maria speaking.
Tucker Johnson, Tucker Johnson... That name rings a bell. Wasn't he that kid from our class that disappeared years ago? Have they found him?
No? A new lead? He did what? Experiments to become a sentient bodypart??
That sounds like that nerd, yes. So he might have been stuck as a part of someone's body for the last decade? What a way to go!
No, of course that's not funny. I'm sorry. But what do you want me to do about it?
So everybody's getting tested who was in contact with him?
No, no, I don't think so. Yes, he was in my class but I really disliked him, so I always avoided touching him. Yes, yes, I'm sure. Absolutely.
Is there something else I can do for you? Okay, thanks. You, too. Bye."
Wow, I just remembered I only touched him once when he approached me to show me something 'interesting' and I gave him a kick to stay away from me. So he could only be my foot. But what are the odds? There's no way I take on the burden of getting tested and whatnot for this. Besides, if he changed into my foot, he'd be braindead for year. My feet are disgutingly smelly.

You know what I mean.
Nobody's acting unrealistically. Takes thought.

So close... but she's unwilling to believe it so it's back to the the unaware foot life for him. I prefer to believe he's capable of lasting much longer than a decade with his sanity intact.

The whimper at the end is supposed to be a hint that you're probably right. But how he feels? Well that's up to your imagination

Yeah, but he's probably content with his life by now. He's had to convince himself. The phone call might have jogged his memory.
