Description
Whenever I watch Jaws I am always struck by how dope Quint's sideburns are. He really rocks the stuffing out of them. Always made me think of another famous fictional fella with killer burns - Wolverine! So I thought what if Quint was actually a mutant, had a healing factor and an adamantium skeleton with killer claws. He'd slash his way out Jaw's belly, emerged from the blood reborn, ready to take the high seas by storm. I designed it as a comic book cover, an homage to Wolverine #1. At last - in his own monthly series! It was created for the MF Gallery's 10th Anniversary show this past weekend. I actually created a special, hand painted, blood embellished print for it, but it sold out already. BUT it is now available as a 8.5x11” or 13x19” giclée print through my online Etys store HERE. OH, I am including a FREE 3x5" waterproof Quint head sticker (the upper left one, see store listing) with every print sold. Put that in your pipe and smoke it
You know him, know what he does for a livin' - SNIKT!

Love it! This is brilliant. In concept and delivery.
I hated the fact that they killed off Quint. But it was the natural arch for his character.
I must point out though, Wolverine made his debut ('74) a year before Quint ('75). So he's still the original.

Thanks Carl! BUT wasn't Wolverine masked then, he appeared only in costume in that Hulk issue, right? Therefore he burns weren't unveiled yet, making Quint the original. Gotta do some research...

In that case it could be a tie. Giant size X-Men came on the scene in '75 too. That was the first time we saw his hairy mug in that first ish.

Ok, so Giant Size X-Men came out in May 1975, I think that was his first appearance with burns? Jaws came out June 20th 1975.
