Description
While a silent conflict emerged within the multiverse, something new had emerged on a part of it.In the Gotham of an alternate Earth, an astonishing symbiosis would emerge.
Professor Ivo, after witnessing the destruction of Amazo, his power-copying android, was at the head of a new project of the same ilk.
His intention was to recreate his machine in a different way.
It was no longer a question of creating an infinitely removable robot but rather of creating artificial life from nano-cells replicating at will.
For this matter, he had called on Black Mask and his band of mercenaries to protect his project.
This would seal the fate of his project.
--
While Black Mask's gang protected the building, the Batman, who had investigated Ivo's crazy project, discreetly entered the building.
Without realizing that he was being followed.
Catwoman moved in his shadow, determined to carry out her own plan.
She didn't care much about the mad scientist's plans.
What mattered to her was Black Mask and what he had.
Several days ago, Selina Kyle must have stolen a series of personal documents from the mansion of the wealthy Bruce Wayne.
Although she had taken advantage of the moment to steal a sublime collection of jewelry that belonged to Martha Wayne, she had not done it for pleasure.
Contacted by Black Mask a few days earlier, he had accumulated proof of Catwoman's identity and decided to blackmail her by using her talents.
The deal was simple, Catwoman was to carry out this theft and Black Mask would return this evidence to her.
But, obviously, that was not the case.
After recovering the documents, he kept his trump card and indicated that he would call on her again.
“You’re mine, kitty!”
At that moment, surrounded by his men, Selina was unable to intervene.
But tonight, while her men were scattered and the Bat was about to intervene, she would have plenty of time to capture Black Mask.
--
Penetrating the building was easy for the Batman who discreetly neutralized several guards.
The alert was given quite late and Mask's men regrouped to face their enemy.
Batman attacked them with all he had of batarang, smoke bombs and punches.
Catwoman witnessed this general melee from afar but preferred to follow Black Mask who retreated with two men into Ivo's laboratory.
The latter demanded accountability from his so-called protector who assured him that everything was under control and that reinforcements were on the way.
Catwoman then jumped from the ceiling.
The first guard she neutralized did not have time to see her arrive and the second barely had time to turn around before collapsing in his turn.
Black Mask turned and opened fire as Ivo fled.
Catwoman ran to escape the shots and moved into the shadows of the room.
She took her whip and cracked it on Mask's hand who dropped his weapon.
Catwoman quickly approached and managed to overpower her opponent.
At least she thought so.
Ivo had picked up the gun from one of the guards and shot Selina in the back.
It was only a slight injury but enough to distract her and Mask freed himself by throwing her against the central office.
Mask picked up his gun and pointed it at her:
“Bad luck, kitty!”
But as he pulled the trigger, a batarang hit Mask's hand.
--
The shot was deflected and the bullet exploded one of the mad professor's vials, letting its contents evaporate.
At least, not completely.
Upon contact with open air, Ivo's project was largely destroyed.
But Catwoman, on the ground next to the desk, inhaled some of it.
But for now, the situation remained the same.
--
The Batman quickly overpowered Black Mask and Ivo and calm quickly returned.
Catwoman looked at the Batman who was approaching her.
She faced him but, because of her injury, she could no longer flee and even less fight against such an opponent.
She had no choice but to surrender.
--
A few hours later, while Selina was in the cell, Batman was negotiating with Commissioner Gordon.
Given the complex situation between Black Mask and Catwoman, Gordon was going to keep Selina in the police station as long as possible while the Mask went straight to detention.
This was good news for Selina.
It would be easier to escape.
The night passed.
Selina had trouble sleeping.
It wasn't her injury that was causing her pain.
It was something else.
A strange feeling.
Oppressive.
Suffocating.
As if her body was imploding.
She was alone on a mattress in a cell and squirming all over the place but she couldn't even scream.
This was still going on into the early morning.
The guard brought her something to eat and then immediately called the doctor when he noticed her condition.
The doctor arrived promptly and examined her.
He then asked the guard:
"Yesterday, my colleague supposedly treated her for a gunshot wound. I don't see anything. Are you sure this is the correct case?"
"It's her name that's written so I guess so."
The two inquired and the doctor gave Selina some medicine to make her feel better but without the slightest effect.
During the day, however, things calmed down.
The feeling of suffocation disappeared and the pain subsided.
Selina even managed to sleep.
When she woke up, it was evening.
As she opened her eyes, a summit meeting was taking place.
--
Gordon and Batman were there.
Superman was there too.
The Ivo affair had caused a stir in supervillain circles.
Superman sought to prove Luthor's involvement.
Gordon replied that the investigation was progressing and that his men were doing what they could while respecting the law.
But it was Batman who had to break the bad news: Ivo had escaped during his transfer and was replaced by a fake inmate.
The discussion lasted a few minutes and, while Batman slipped away as he usually did, Superman followed Gordon to collect the few belongings of Ivo that his men had seized.
As they walked through the police station, Selina saw the Kryptonian.
Superman retrieved Ivo's files and exited through a window.
Selina was fighting a violent headache.
--
This time she had the strength to moan and the guard quickly came to get her and called the doctor.
"Caution!" the commissioner had said.
It was therefore handcuffed to the infirmary bed that Selina spent the night under surveillance by the guard.
And no medicine could calm her pain.
Her mind was focused on the Kryptonian she had seen.
She felt that something inside her was quickly analyzing what she had seen.
But she didn't understand what was happening.
She ends up falling into a deep sleep.
--
The nurse opened the curtain.
Light entered the room.
Selina opened her eyes as her mind was flooded with new sensations.
She held her head in her hands, feeling a myriad of intense new sensations.
She was so upset that she barely heard the nurse tell her that she would be transferred to the hospital today because of her recurring pain.
The nurse left the room.
Selina felt something had changed.
Little by little, she managed to calm these different sensations.
She saw more clearly.
She heard everything.
From the heartbeat of the caretaker on the ground floor of the building opposite to the beating wings of butterflies in a park several leagues away.
Her mind managed to tame this new super-hearing.
It was there that she found that she could see through walls.
Wherever she turned her head, she could see everything in great detail up to several kilometers away.
Her senses plunged her mind into the immensity of the city.
She didn't understand what was happening.
But she managed to concentrate and bring her mind back to the police station.
These new senses would undoubtedly allow her to escape much more easily.
She looked around the building and saw that her suit was located one floor higher with the evidence.
But first, he had to get rid of the handcuffs.
She looked at the steel chains.
She had already removed handcuffs without any tools.
But as she was about to bend her hand to slide it out of the cuffs, the steel twisted and simply gave way.
Selina was even more disturbed.
She remembered the scene from last night and her headache.
The Kryptonian.
Had she gotten his powers?
She stood up and noticed that her feet didn't touch the ground.
It was clear, she had the powers of the most powerful man in the world.
--
She placed her feet on the ground and looked around.
Superman was probably very fast.
Was this also the case for her?
She concentrated and time seemed to slow down around her.
Her mind and body sped up so much that the world around her was almost frozen.
She then opened the door and walked through the police station.
The slightest movement on her part caused a movement of air such that everything around her was thrown.
She jumped through the ceiling straight into the evidence room.
There, she retrieved her costume which she put on before flying away at such speed that she devastated the police station.
--
Catwoman flew through the sky, happy with this power and this new freedom.
She felt the new strength in her body.
She felt her eyes stinging.
She had already seen the man of steel at work.
She smiled as she felt her eyes light up red.
--
It was night and Black Mask was languishing in his cell.
While he was used to barking orders at his men, here he had to be content to stay in solitary confinement between two interviews with his lawyer.
But not tonight.
As he dozed in his bed, there was a violent tremor that shook the building.
Mask stood up, alert to the slightest event.
But he didn't have to wait long.
The wall was smashed in front of him.
That's where he saw Catwoman.
Mask looked at her without understanding.
She looked at him with delight.
"What is going on?" he finally said.
But Catwoman's eyes lit up and she said:
“From the Kitty!”
A laser beam came out of her eyes and sliced Mask's left arm and leg, who fell to the ground screaming in pain.
The wounds were graded.
Catwoman wasn't done with him.
She walked over and lifted him with one hand before looking at the ceiling.
She cut a hole up to the sky and flew away with her prey.
She went faster and faster.
Mask felt the pressure of acceleration and the resistance of the atmosphere which gradually consumed him.
He died before reaching space.
Catwoman dropped the body of her enemy of which almost only the bones remained and watched him move away towards the ground but she could not resist and pulverized the corpse with her laser beam.
She then returned to the prison and decided to have a little fun.
From the sky, she devastated the neighborhood with rays while her body moved gracefully through the air.
She showed no mercy, either for the guilty or the innocent.
After that, there was only one thing that mattered to her: robbing the British Museum.
And maybe the Louvres after that.
