Description "Robot Construction Kit" for Daz Studio

-Work in process- Not yet released for public use.

A brut robot, crude and simple, but big and strong!

This is a 34 part version with hopes it will lead
to a modular version with fewer parts but morphs to
allow at least some limb movement or pose work.

Simple block models and starter textures by
mcv at Renderosity.com -aka- mcvdaz at DAZ3D.com
aka mcv001 at DeviantArts.com

Assembly module refinement and limb morphs by
JRoulin at Renderosity.com

NOTE: Work in progress, expect changes . . .

The model name, zip file name and contents, and contents of this
readme file will most likely change for the release version which
may not be a kit but a morph-able prop instead.

Tentatvie "Legal Stuff" for when this is actually release for use . . .

INSTALLATION . . .

The "Brut Robot Construction Kit" WIP zip package includes
only the Daz Studio version 1.0.1 scene file and data folder items.
Until product release you will need the "BRUT the Robot" prop zip file
textures or will need to assign other textures instead.

Daz Studio Install Notes:

The Daz Studio version of Brut the Robot has lots of material zones
and comes with a starter set of mostly original textures and bump maps.

The only non-original item is the excellent hull plating texture.
It is a "For Commercial or Non-Commercial Use" freebie by Django
at Renderosity, com and also available for direct download at
[link]

Install the Daz Studio version by moving all the zip's
content folders to your DAZ/Studio/content directory.
You may also move the zip file to your Daz Studio folder and
unzip it there to install.

You may place the files in the scenes/Props folder elsewhere if you must,
but you will then have to help Daz Studio find the texture files.

Obj File INstall Notes: NOTE: Below does not apply to this WIP zip package
Left in place only for future final release.

Included for Poser, Bryce, PovRay (via PoseRay of course), Vue d'Esprit
and other 3D tools users is an obj of Brut the Robot prop.
The obj file are in the zips's obj_for_3D_import folder.
You may use the textures in the Daz/Sudio/Content/scenes/Props
folder of the zip file if you now how to apply them with your 3D program.

Not required, but we would love to see what you do with this item.
You can reach us by IM at the sites mentioned above.

Have fun with this, we sure had fun making it.

Steve,

Jacques, Jroulin at Renderosity, is hoping to take this crude starter set
assembly it, and add morphs so there is at least some limb movement possible.

The end result will not be a true pose-able char, but should be much more useful
than the static prop I know how to make. A morphing prop robot should alos have
and less clutter in terms of part and surfaces than this Kit version, which is a
"you can do anything but it is not easy 34 part cluttered up version". A Morphing prop
version would be just about as flexible in the practicle sense of the term and so much easier to use.

It is so cool that he is lending his skills to this. I know he has great projects of
his own underway and hope this does not take a lot of his valuable time.

I also plan to practice and learn simple linear prop morph technique
so I can use it in future stuff. I am thinking of something like a vise for a starter project,
but need to check free stuff, so i do not duplicate past work by others.

You made those simple snow flakes look mighty nice in that Bryce render.
Thanks!

PS: Have you check my Blizzard plane freebie? Looks more like Holliwood than real snow,
but much lighter on system resources than true 3d stuff as it is all done with 1 plane and texture maps.

Cheers, Mike
