I love this, but I'm confused as to what it's supposed to represent. Do you know, and if so could you tell me? I'd be interested to know.

it was made after the death of a frznch soldier and it's believed to represent victory over death

beautiful; you did well to capture the emotive stance of the piece.

Hi! I'm an editor at a new SF/F Magazine, Imaginarium, which is run by
students at UC Berkeley and published digitally twice a year. We're
currently looking for artwork for our publication, and trying to get the
word out to artists we like and admire so they submit and we - hopefully -
can publish it! If you're interested in adding published works to your
portfolio and appearing in the debut issue of Imaginarium, check out our
website at : [link] , or email submissions
directly to imaginariumzine@gmail.com. Thank you!

Cool photo! I remember quite well two huge animated statues on Mylene Farmer concert tour. I don't knew that they was copies from this one.

Awesome Photography! Still cant believe this was sculpted in 1547. The subject matter seems so modern and non religious. Btw the full name of the piece is Le Transi,
Squelette de RenΓ© de Chalon by Ligier Richier.

I've loved this particular sculpture since I saw it in a book on Art History last year. This photo just captures the feel and dynamic of the sculpture wonderfully

After having seen other photographs of this statue (I wasn't familiar with it, but it definitely piqued my interest) I must congratulate you on the spectacular angle that you chose to use! That and the black and white adds incredible drama to this already imposing statue.

Oh! This is one of my favourite sculptures ever (I know I'm morbid!). I visited Bar-le-Duc last year, and spent hours sketching in St Pierre. I never managed to get a good photo of it, which you clearly did.
