To be honest, no. I have seen some blueprints that show turbo lift shafts and jefferies tubes in the pylons. But over all, I don't think the lower hull is intended to be inhabited on a regular basis. But if that's the case, then you have to wonder where the primary engine systems are. It's really a very awkward design, but I wanted to use as many different designs as I could- a liberty the TV shows didn't always have.

A few models out there have a neck structure, connecting the upper and lower hulls, as well as having a pair of torpedo launchers

No. It popped up a few times on Next Gen and the scene in my story takes place just prior to the TV series.
