Description
With the slight echoing of your steps, you briskly walked down the halls of the ShinRa building. You had been a second class SOLDIER for quite a while, but being in such a lower class, you were often stuck with mountains of paperwork to fill.

“I don’t understand why out of all the soldiers, Director Lazard gives the most paperwork out to the lowest classes…” You mumbled, only to yourself. You gave out a heaving sigh as you carried around the stacks of paper in your aching hands. The day was almost over with, so you felt a little relieved. You came near a corner where you heard quickened footsteps heading your way behind you. With a confused look on your face, you awaited who it was since you couldn’t turn around without dropping all of the papers.

Suddenly, you felt an arm being swung around your shoulders as you leaned slightly to the side, due to the extra weight of another person.

“Hey, ______! What’s up?” Zack… you shook your head and smiled at Zack in a joyful way. You scoffed,

“What’s up? I have to carry around millions of paperwork all day. What do you mean, what’s up?” Zack stopped walking and jumped in front of you, blocking your way.

“Never worry! First class SOLDIER, Zack Fair is here to help!” And with that, he gently took all of the papers that was in your hands. You placed your hands on your hips and shook your head, softly chuckling at his immaturity.

“You really should take things more serious, Zack.” He looked at you with an expression like he had been hurt.

“Geez, what are you… Angeal now?” You both laughed for a few moments before you spoke up again,

“No. I won’t give you a long speech about dreams and honor, I promise.” After saying that, Zack gave you one of the brightest smiles that sent your heart fluttering. Yes, you had a huge crush towards him, but you didn’t let it get in the way of everything else. But whenever you’d gaze into his blue colored orbs, you were sent into a daydream with them.

“So, where do these go again?” His angelic voice broke yourself out of your thoughts as you hummed in question. He grinned, “These papers. Where do they go?” Your eyes widened as you felt you have forgotten for a second where they belonged.

“Oh! To Director Lazard’s office.” He nodded as he began walking off towards the Director’s office, with you following.

Walking side by side, you and Zack joked around for quite a while before entering the office.

“Ah, Zack and ______! I’ve been meaning to talk to you two for a while.” Lazard greeted you two in as Zack placed down the, not so heavy to him, paperwork.

“What is it, Director?” You stood next to Zack, who also had his attention on Lazard. The director was sitting in his usual desk chair, with his fingers intertwined with his chin laying on top of them.

“As you know, Zack, ______ is a second class soldier and still needs much training to be promoted to first class. In your free time, I want you to be the one to train ______.”

Hearing his words, your heart felt like it had stopped. Zack on the other hand, was fist pumping in the air and nudging you on the side with his elbow.

“Hey! You hear that, _____? I get to train you from now on!” He sounded so ecstatic about all of this. Well… you were also, it’s just, being in a room for hours with Zack? You understood to always keep work first but you didn’t know how long you could keep that act up with him along. You just smiled and nodded before both of you being given your training schedule and future missions from the Director.

“Alright, ______. Here, put this on. You’ll need it in order for training.” Zack handed you a strange looking visor. Gradually, you took it in your hands and placed it over your eyes. You took a deep breath and swallowed hard before Zack started giving you instructions.

“Now don’t worry. Since this is your first time using this, I will be there next to you. Now let’s see…” You heard a few buttons being pressed and a loud buzzing noise going off for a few seconds.

“Should I trust you with this, Zack?” You wanted to laugh but you were actually serious. Even though he was in first class he was still a jokester.

“Of course you can!” After he said that you heard a few footsteps approaching your way as the metal room around you started changing into a new open world. You stared at it in admiration of what you saw in front of you. The Mako Cannon.

You had heard of it before but never had experienced it up close of its beauty. You walked across it with the clanking along with your SOLDIER boots.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” You heard Zack’s voice over the loud rushing of the wind blowing in the air, and the sound of the ocean crashing very far below you. You only nodded while looking at the spectacular view. You turned around to the sound of Zack awkwardly chuckling and seeing him scratching the back of his head. “Yeah, I’ve never been here for training but, I heard Angeal, Sephiroth, and Genesis come up here all the time to practice. So, I thought it would be a good place.”

You walked back towards Zack, and pulled out your sword and get in a fighting stance. He smirked at your eagerness to train, and pulled out the Broadsword and got into a fighting position as well.

“I’m not going to go easy on you, you know that right?” You grinned,

“Don’t hold back.” And with that he charged at you with full speed and attempted to attack you, only for it to be blocked.

Your swords clashed together many times for what seemed an hour long, until you both eventually became tired and called it a draw. Sitting on the Mako Cannon, you and Zack both stared out into the view in front of you.

“That was good for a first day of virtual training.” Zack said, out of breath. You turned your head towards him and smiled, which he returned the smile as well. You dropped the smile on your face as you noticed he was staring into your eyes for the longest of time.

You cleared your throat as you felt your cheeks starting to burn slightly, as your heart rate quickened by a little. You looked down at the floor beneath your feet in embarrassment, until you saw Zack take both your hands in his. You immediately looked up only to see his face inches away from yours which caused your breathing to halt, and your heart to leap into your throat.

“_____, I’ve been a part of SOLDIER for a while, so have you. And you know how Angeal is always going on and on about, dreams, and honor and what not?” You nodded as he stuttered for a few seconds but continued, “Well, my dream is to make you mine- and your love will give me the honor I need. Will you let me be your soldier?” His voice sounded the sweetest and most compassionate you had ever heard it. You grinned widely and nodded before your lips were captured into a passionate kiss.

His arms wrapped around you, affectionately as you placed your arms around his neck. You lips moved together, ardently with ease. Your heart had felt it was going to burst with between, anxiety, and exhilaration. Before you realized it the background had changed and you were back in the training room.

You broke the kiss as you looked around quickly, with the visor still on you couldn’t see anything, so you took it off only to see Angeal standing in front of the machine that sends you into a virtual reality world. You heard him chuckling and shaking his head before saying,

“Two puppies smooching, just what I needed to see.” You looked back at Zack who was still hugging you, with a huge grin on his face. You laughed along with Zack as Angeal left the room astonished by you two’s pettiness.
