Dogs were caged and tied before letting Tiny roam
Edit: Tiny no longer has his wings clipped. He is now, and has been for some time, fully flighted.

He is nearly due to have his wings cut again. It doesn't hurt him, it's just like us cutting our nails.
I do like to see him fly and I'm sure he enjoys it but I'm too scared that he might escape and fly away if someone is stupid and opens a door or a window or something...

It doesn't hurt them unless you cut through the blood vessel, kind of like cutting dogs claws except you can cut far more off birds feathers. It didn't hurt Tiny, but he didn't like it.. But better safe than sorry!

When done right the birds can't fly up, they can't get any lift. They can only go down. So you don't have to worry about them escaping really
