Description This is a code I made up roughly around the same time as my language. I guess I've started to call it a font or script seeing how I use it on a regular basis. It's very easy to learn--I can almost read something written in it as fast as reading regular type!

EDIT
I've recently updated some of the characters for my own convenience as well as other reasons. Also if you hit download, you will get a zip folder with the .ttf file, which can be installed into your "Fonts" folder in the Control panel and become a working font! You may also choose to download it at this site.

There are no punctuation marks included in this font(as I rarely incorporate them when writing). If you do use the punctuation keys, you may find some spacing issues (I would recommend switching fonts if you find punctuation absolutely necessary).

Actually, the only punctuation key available is the period ( . ) because I normally write complete ideas and end them with the period symbol rather than throw in commas and tildes. I simply complete a thought (sentence) then hit the return key to start the next. It might seem strange, but keep in mind that when I created it, I originally meant for it to be a completely different language (didn't really work out...)

Please let me know if you have any difficulty in downloading or installing or, if you're feeling cheated and absolutely, positively NEED punctuation and such, leave me a note and I'll try my best to update it!

Enjoy!

I hadn't even thought of uploading my old syllabaries. I used to spend weeks doing that sort of thing. Very nice.

Hey tell me, how can you make fonts like this? I've been looking for a way to make my own language a font, but have no experience in that. Help?

There are many sites out there that offer turning your handwriting into fonts-- all you need is a good scanner and around 9 bucks. I have yet to find one that will do it for free. *drat*

But I used a free, online program called FontStruct. All you have to do is create a free account ID, then click on their web-based 'fontstructor' and go to work! In this program, you use a series of simple shapes to form your letters. You might want to practice a bit on it before starting your actual language, it can be a bit time-consuming depending on how you want the font to look. I would recommend starting big. At small scale, it's hard to get the shapes to line up just right in your grid space.

It offers spaces for A-Z, a-z, 0-9, and ALL the punctuation marks you didn't even think you would ever need! You can test it within the program and save as you go along. The hardest part for me was getting the spacing right.

After you're done, you can choose to share it with the rest of the site, or just download it yourself-- you only need to put the .ttf file in your Fonts folder on your computer and you're good to go

Hopefully this helps, here's the link to the site: [link]
I also have a link to my font in my artist comments if you're interested.

It's not too terribly difficult, actually. I took it a few letters at a time, then practiced writing a specific poem with them over and over.

Over time I've definitely altered or completely changed many of the symbols: the 'I' used to resemble an R, the 'R' also had an R shape, 'U' and 'Y' both looked Y-ish, etc. I felt that many of the original characters were taking too long to scribble out (the N, omg!) and simplified those as well. I'm just about finished with it--been working with it since 6th grade... (2001)

It's definitely worth it, the look on someone's face as they glance at my crossword is just priceless!

I also have a spoken language in the works. So far it's mainly been useful for translating names. [link]
