Been trying out a new digital painting style. The shadows are a bit dark, but I like the bit of dramatic feel it gives.The character belongs to ~Metal-Lark

SO. MUCH. AWESOME. As mentioned before, I am absolutely LOVING the texture you have going on here! And as far as the mood goes, it feels like the quiet before the storm. Very ambient and awesome looking painting. A little blurry as far as the edges go, but we can easily go ahead and say that it veyr much adds to the mood >u> Though admittedly, if there was one thing I had to nitpick, it'd be the background. I personally think it'd look better if the transition from light to dark was smoother, but that's just me :0
Bottom line? AWESOME WORK~

Oooh, that's very nice! Myself, I have a hard time getting a picture that dark. ('Cause I like to work with traditional media...) I'm really impressed with this!

Wow, heh, looks like you've started painting about the same time I did, ie: those 'worthless' drawings.
Just like I was pleasantly surprised at how good I was at painting, I'm surprised by yours as well! This looks really really good man! AT some of the shading spots on his armor it looks like professional concept-artist level stuff here.
Of course the shading and painting skill is the main spectacle, not much else to say about it then that. I guess I could add that I do really like his pose, looks natural and all. The ambiance is indeed very nice, reminds me of some of the over-saturated b/w hallucinations in the original FEAR. That's a very good compliment too.. that game had epic crazy ambiance!

Thanks for noticing the ambiance. The pose, background and color/lighting scheme were all meant to have a sort of reserved, cold feeling.
