Description It's a low-poly version of Jason, from Blaster Master. I'm going to use him in an upcoming pic I'm making, where he'll be piloting Sophia! I tried really hard to make him as low poly as possible, while still looking somewhat good. I feel I learned a lot since the last time I tried to make a low-poly model, but there is still more to learn. One step at a time though, right? Currently, he is 686 tris.

its too lowpolied. you could add some polyes more

Yeah, I sort of got the feeling that there is a point in which, a model can be too low-poly even by low-poly standards.

What range of poly counts do you think would be good for a low-poly model? I'm still learning, and appreciate all advice

the thing is that you must see wich quantity suist your model, check out my gallery . i have made a kind of denders about only low poly things. hope you like them

Wow, you have some nice stuff in your gallery! I can see you love 3D too! Ok, I will take your advice on figuring out the needs for the model.

I guess it is ok to be lenient with poly counts, as long as each one makes sense and serves some use. A model does not have to be low-poly for the sake of being low-poly, it only needs to be within a specified number of polys while still looking good. If I doubled the amount of polys in this model, it would still be considered low-poly, yet look twice as good! I see that now.

I think by the next low-poly model I attempt, I will have the concept down

it is considered low poly as long you dont use turbosmooth. if it has 5000 or 7000 tris it is considered lowpooly
