Description Continued from: Cheater!Aomine xReader

Four months had passed. Four long and hard months. The first few days were the hardest. You had to plan around Aomine’s schedule to actually go back to his flat and retrieve the rest of your things. Thankfully, Akashi had been very...supportive?

Perhaps that wasn't the right word. To you he seemed almost abnormally eager to assist you. Whenever you voiced your concerns about returning to the apartment he was reassuring you of his “absolute protection”. When you broke down at Aomine’s flat after seeing a bunch of new items and furniture moved in -specifically those that would belong to a woman- it seemed to hammer home just how little Daiki had cared for your relationship with him.

Yet Akashi had been quick to offer a sting shoulder to cry on. It was embarrassing and you apologized profusely, mentally berating yourself for being so clingy and fragile. But Akashi would merely pat your head, call you silly, and assure you he was fine with it.

And life went on. Thankfully you were the suspicious type, and keeping your old apartment space -despite your engagement to that awful man- was making things much easier on you.

To your slight surprise. The boys -well, men now- made a point to visit you. Murasakibara was more prone to showing up unannounced whereas Kise flipped between calling ahead and barging in. Thankfully, Midorima and Kuroko made it a regular habit to call beforehand.

However, Akashi always made a point to invite you to his place. Much like he was trying to do right now...emphasis on trying.

“Excuse me?”

“I said ‘no’ Akashi.”

“(Name)-.”

“Hush. If we're hanging out today I want you to come to my apartment for a change.” You replied, lazily lying upside down on the couch.

“...It would be much easier-.”

“If you're too busy to come down here then just say so.” You sighed, “Akashi, I want to do something here today. I'm not dressed and I don't want to get dressed.”

“Laziness is a bad habit to develop.” Akashi warned, sounding slightly annoyed.

You huffed, “Well excuse me if I don't want to get dressed after a ten hour overnight shift. I just woke up from a power nap and if I'm entertaining a guest it'll be at my place in the comforts of my own home.”

“Ten hours is hardly-.”

“If you value our friendship you won't finish that sentence.”

“I have a guest to entertain -for a half an hour at most- in two hours. It wouldn't be worth it to-.”

“Then we don't hang out today. I'll call you later then?” You shrugged, “One day isn't going to slaughter a friendship Seijuro.”

“I would argue that if I had time.” Akashi chuckled, shifting his cellphone to the other hand.

“And thankfully you don't so your point is moot. I'll see you later, kay?”

“Alright. Goodbye, (Name).”

“Ciao, Akashi-kun.”

Well, if you were going to be alone for the next few hours you might as well get some more sleep.

The next morning found you tightly clenching a steaming cup of calming tea, most of your muscles were locked and tense. Despite outward appearances, your mind was still plagued with nightmares. You'd seen what Aomine could do. How scary he was when he wanted something bad enough.

He was unstoppable. He could even be unstable from time to time. You'd witnessed both of these things firsthand. If you concentrated hard enough, you could hear the sounds of the drywall in his apartment buckling as he slammed his fist through it. He'd destroyed over something as trivial as a burnt piece of meat.

You stood no chance if he wanted revenge. And it wasn't like you could rely on Akashi. The man wasn't your babysitter and certainly didn't have time for such things.

You groaned and slouched in your seat, almost missing the knock at your door. You raised a brow.

“What the...no. It's 8:00. Who in-.”

*knock*knock*

“Sonuva Butternut squash…” You scowled and lazily stood from the chair.

Ambling over to the door, you pressed an eye to the peephole and almost beat your head against the wall. Akashi. Of course he'd want to see you at this ungodly morning hour.

He looked awake too.

Groaning, you took a minute to take in your own appearance. You looked like you had just rolled out of bed. Probably because you had not even ten minutes ago. Your hair was wild, you likely had bags under your eyes, and your clothes were rumpled -if not exposing.

Ah, fuck it. If he couldn't handle thin tank tops and short pajama bottoms then it was his loss.

Throwing the door open, you openly gave the vibrant redhead an unimpressed stare and leaned against the wooden frame. “Akashi…”

“Hello, (Name).”

“Why? Why are you on my porch? It's early. And you look perfect which is completely unfair.”

Akashi chuckled. “I'm sure I have a few stray hairs out of place.”

“Not likely.”

The man merely shrugged. “May I come in.”

“At your own risk.” You shrugged back and retreated to the kitchen. Akashi followed close behind, mindful to make sure the door was shut. The flimsy thing would pop back open if one wasn't careful.

“I'll have someone over soon to fix that.” Akashi murmured.

“Don't bother. It's an apartment. Not worth it.” You shrugged.

“A twin apartment.” Akashi corrected gently and nodded toward the conjoined side of the house rented by your neighbor, Penny Mink.

And, no. That's not a nickname. That's the intelligence of an eighteen -now twenty-four- year old too lazy to legally change her name. Again.

Back to something more, fitting? Regardless, she was a nice person. Loads of fun to talk to when she wasn't hungover or horny.

“Your point?” You pressed.

“You live on the ground floor. A working door is a must.” Akashi lectured as you rolled your eyes.

“It works enough. Leave it, Akashi.” You sighed. “Look, as much as I'd love an argument right now -sarcasm- I think I'd appreciate a quiet morning and toast a lot more.”

“Then I'll get right on that.” Akashi shrugged and rifled through the bread box.

“Oh, you don't have to…”

“No, I don't. But I want to.” Akashi smirked.

You shook your head, but smiled nonetheless. “Fine, fine. Do as you please.”

“I intend to, dear (Name).”

I didn't know that this was a continuation, so I read this first and then went back to read the previous bits and now I can't wait to see what happens next!
