I could definitely see this in Risk of Rain 2.Β
Wow. Looking at you mention the "bullet hose" concept and looking at this made me imagine a gun that solidifies liquid before/in the chamber then uses it as projectiles. Then there'd be no need for clunky slow magazines. You'd get slightly more ammo too, because the rounds are just liquid instead of being cylinders that don't occupy space efficiently.

Yep, that's exactly the concept.Β You'd get a huge increase in storage efficiency as well, since about 50% of a bullet is the cartridge and powder.Β This design only prints what gets shot at an enemy and is electrically accelerated down the barrel like a railgun.
