I actually did consider going with that name for a while. I thought it would be a little more interesting to set up a character with "Emperor" in their name and have it turn out to be a woman.

Hmm, possibly. I want to leave a little room for future upgrades they might get throughout the story. I also noticed anything else named "Scorpion" always has the tail featured most prominently, so I thought I'd try going the other way with it.

Not in this version. I didn't really have any melee-only characters yet, so she's filling that role. If I do give her some sort of tail, that will probably be a long range weapon.
