Description
Here's a frame I rendered out from an animation piece I've got in the works. The walk cycles are done, and the animation is probably 90% of the way ready to go. All that's left is some sound design, and final editing.

I'm using this as a proof of concept for some bigger projects, and combining it with my music project, The Modern Dissidents. I'm really excited about this one, since it's probably the most labor intensive animation I've ever built on my own (while picking a friend's brain about Blender).

The background and animations were drawn in Procreate. I imported the flat planes into Blender, and extruded the surfaces to reflect the designs I created with the line work. I think it gives it a lot of the character that I love in standard 2D animation, with the consistency and ease of CG. Then I imported the looped animations of the figures, and composed the scene and movement in space. I'm thinking of using this as a basis for a Skillshare class once I get it all together.

it blows my mind to realize how powerful this equipment and software is, and how it's become attainable (Apple's prices aside). I never thought I'd have access to this kind of animation back in the days when I was drawing in dot matrix printer paper and trying to animate on a VHS camcorder. I can't wait to share the final piece! Thanks for checking out my cartoons!
