The Ironside APC is the Administrations armored troop carrier. Of all the APC's used by the factions, the Ironside is the most heavily armored. This costs it in speed, but the trade off is that its the most survivable of all the wars APC's. Its armament is a pair of miniguns mounted in a turret on top, making it a contender for the most well armed troop carriers a well. The Ironside contains a human crew. A driver, a gunner, and a commander. The reason it doesn't contain any major automation is because it already has a minimal crew, plus the equipment needed for automation would take up valuable crew space. The Ironside APC contains accommodations for both human and robotic soldiers. Human troops sit in conventional sets, Automaton stand securely in special alcoves that recharge them and disseminate new orders. Clankers and Gunmen will stand along the wall, gremlins, stalker, and handymen are secured on the floor of the vehicle. The amount that can be carried depends on the combination of troops loaded, some troops take up more space then others. Warlord exo suits cannot ride in the Ironside, and they don't really need to since there essentially mini vehicles themselves.

The Ironside was the second vehicle design the Administration put out. After the Saber, designs began for a proper troop transport and infantry support vehicle. The vehicle always had heavy armor and heavy armament with a pair of machine guns. However, once hand held anti-armor weapons made a resurgence the Ironsides armor became vulnerable. Not wanting to have to make a new vehicle from scratch, they recalled the Ironsides and as quickly as possible refit it with heavier armor and the miniguns. This also explains why its black with red decorations, the vehicles were refit and sent back into battle so quickly there was only time to paint on the red decals and the trend simply stuck.

Now one would question why a robot army needs an armored troop transport. The answer is two fold. One: robotic infantry are quite slow and its quicker to use vehicles to transport them. Two: robot troops still need to survive long enough to enter the battle. If they are killed by snipers or artillery fire as their marching its kind of a waste. Unlike other Administration vehicles the Ironside is a common sight to the civilian population. Skull Caps troopers use them to transport sensitive cargo, prisoners and as police vehicles in general. They are also the first vehicle support that the settlement will get. This has made the Ironside synonymous with the brutish enforcement of the Skull Cap troopers, even though its the Iornsides that will ferry them away to safety.
