A large self-sufficient Mars exploration rover would be the best way to go. By self-sufficient of course, I mean it can recycle it air and water, as our submarines do, and thus would only be limited by food, spare parts, and crew fatigue. This vehicle would also have to be capable of protecting the crew from solar radiation, and local environmental conditions. It's a great design and render. I like the fact that you have them working in pairs.

This is excellent, and it makes me want to see the landing vehicle that carried them!
One tiny issue that has nothing to do with the vehicle design per se is the use of the red NASA "worm" logo rather than the "meatball". The red-letter version has been retired from use for about two decades now, in favor of the older round blue one: [link] [Wikipedia's page on NASA Insignia]
Wonderfully evocative illustration, otherwise. Great work!

Superb design-I love both the engineering and the aesthetic you've put into the vehicle. Your composition and palette are nice--great color harmonies while maintaining realism. Overall one of the very best near future images I've ever seen on DA. One question: is the vehicle coming over the ridge in the background the same as your foreground rover? I think your decision to blur the background was a wise one, but the geek in me wants to know!

Damn!!! This is extremely cool ! Congratulations for the design, the details, the setting and the great idea of the second rover climbing down the hill !
I love the golden glasses, it gives a great style to the vehicle.
I have made very similar vehicles that you can see in my Mars Design gallery : [link]
Again, bravo !!

Very cool idea! I love the design and overall concept. I could definitely see this being a real design eventually; for the first manned Mars mission for example!

Looks pretty nice, I like the design! The ladder looks like it might hit the ground in rough terrain though...

If he had designed the ladder to fold up, maybe not. But yeah, you're right.
I too, like the design.
