Update 30/09/09: Firstly I gave the site a little bit more contrast. I added another navigation bar on the bottom of the page for more accessibility. Finally the logo I changed the font back to the original.Update 30/09/09: Re-rendered product more accurately, made custom icons for header, added red button per request from client, "squared" the text sections, added small details.
I also did an inverted version of the layout which I may or may not post.
Update 29/09/09: Spaced the content out a bit, added small details.
A design in progress for an Australian home automation company (Smart Openers). I will post updates.
I'm yet to start the other pages.

I really dig this! The only thing that I can think of changing might be making the text more uniform. I don't know if it would be possible for you make each body of text square? It would be interesting to see how it looks

I used to work for a media company part time and I managed all the web side. Unfortunately I never could really do work to my full potential there so I got used to making half-assed sites, as my gallery suggests. I've since quit, and this is my first real attempt at something professional. I'm doing this site as a freelance contracter, yes

It's ok man, but imo you really need to devote some more space under the titles " Featured Project " and " Latest News " as the text here is sooo locked in and claustrophobic
Other than that the logo looks great, the little indents, and drop shadows and lighting effects go well in this, and the padding and spacing seems fine in other areas of the layout, just fix what i said above, and i think it could hold great potential for you
