Description Done for

This is basic tutorial showing how I draw lombax heads at 3/4 view.

I'm being completely serious when I say "use a colored pencil to sketch!"

Cause I don't think it really looks like a lombax, not anymore at least.

I don't do the blue lines thing, I'm an amateur and draw lightly, ink it and then erase! X3 That's why a lot of my pictures get a bit crumpled.

Blue lines only really work if you can digitally color the image. But I found that it really helps with the sketching part. I can move my hand all over the place and not worry about bad lines. And its color doesn't stand out as strongly as a pencil. Allowing me to really define which lines I like.

Besides I've grown to love the look of my images when their blue and gray doodles.

Ah, the coloured pencil/blue sketch pencil trick ^_^ I don't use that myself (rough sketch, which is then transferred onto a nice sheet of paper for final sketch and inking), but it is definately handy :3

Nice tutorial!

Actually, I never transfer the sketch to another piece of paper. I scan the original sketch into the computer and do the final outlines on the computer.

I need to transfer mine for cleaner lines to ink - downside of being a traditional artist
