Ah. Well, it would make sense. I guess it also depends on what you determine to be the essence of a "soul". As the doc said, some believe it is a concept of cognition and others think it is something more spiritual. I've perceived the "soul" as something that carries "you" with it after death. Although, in a monster's case, it is more than just the being they are at their core but everything that surrounds it as well. Like how for humans, the brain and soul are separate entities yet, for monsters, the brain and the soul are one in the same. At least, that's how I see it.
