Description This is actually a picture i drew a while ago in my art book and really liked so i thought i'd turn it into some digital art.

I'm not really happy with it as i got bored halfway through and dint put much effort into the wolf and background

The girl is a character based on me from a little challenge me and my friend are doing in which we take turns writing a chapter of a story. the wolf is a werewolf called Tore, who has an illness which will one day kill him.

im not very good when it comes to backgrounds so if anyone knows some good tutorials or tips i'd love to hear the. this is also the first time i've drawn an animal so i doubt its very good

oh well- i hope you all like it and i'd love to know what you think (i find it a little disappointing how few people actually take the time to comment or critisize artwork)

I myself doubt I could help you with a background tutorial or tips, since I'm still learning, but there's probably tutorials you can find on the web, like on Youtube and such sites. My only tip is to make a distinct light source, something which I'm not sure why I only started doing recently. It looks much better.
I don't draw animals much myself, but I have to say if you don't yourself the wolf is very good. Animals can be tricky to draw when you don't tend to draw them, their anatomy is so much different to humans. I like the wolf even if the colouring is kinda rough, I was until recently with my digital art.
I must say I like the reflections though, I've never drawn one in my own pictures before, they add a lot to the picture.

I understand how you feel about getting no comments (or constructive criticism). You're considerably more popular than I am this site, so my situations even worse, at least you get comments. Its a rare occurrence for me, I only have one person who ever comments. And she tends not to either. Though I'm still happy that she does. But I can explain that through how unpopular I am, so it doesn't bother me as much, at least its not the situation I have on my fanfiction account. My most popular story gets an average of 1000 views per chapter, and I'll be lucky to get 3 reviews. I've gotten eight once, but that was a miracle.

wow thank you for taking the time to comment to be honest this is a pretty old picture which i was really lazy with and now that i look back i notice a LOT of mistakes but thank you for the tips and i'll see how i can incorporate a light source into my next piece.
i totally understand what you mean about comments, i also normally have the same few people who comment, but i guess i've been pretty inactive lately so i cant complain (i only just came back to deviantart a few days ago). thats really good though, 1000 views per chapter is heaps! are you on fanfic.com? i hope you dont mind me asking, but what type of fanfictions do you write?

I almost didn't comment since my computers really old and laggy and comments just make it explode. But I felt like I really should. You'll be surprised how much a light source can change a picture, the one I'm doing at the moment looks ridiculously different from the flat coloured version to the shaded version, especially since my light source comes from the middle (I'm challenging myself), so the shadows and highlights are all different. It's an interesting look.

I'll admit, I was referring to my story Dance Against the Wind, which I know for a fact is 28x times more popular than another story of mine. I actually did the maths. It's only been for the last few updates that its popularity has exploded like it has. But even before now it was still getting 300+ an update. Only the average review rate remained the same except for the first time I got 1000, where I got eight. It exploded my mind, I was so incredibly happy.
DATW is a lot more popular than my other stories, and trust me, I mean A LOT. It's got 15 chapters and 14,000 views, whereas my favourite has only slightly less and it has 711 views. I memorised the view count because it's so rare to get more views on it. It's been on the site for around the longest amount of time as well, DATW's been on there for about half the time. I only get a few reviews and views, some stories have over 3,000 views but that's a combination of time and chapter count. Plus, I'm going to have DATW fans who get curious about my other stories and check them out too, it makes me happy when that happens.
I'm on fanfiction.net. I write fanfics for Final fantasy mainly, and for some reason most of them ended up being FFXIII. It's not my most favourite game that Square Enix has created, certainly not, its quality is far lower than usual. But the characters are fantastic subjects to write about. Other than that I've also done a little for FFX and FFVII. There's not much else besides a Kingdom Hearts oneshot (that's 22,000 words long), a incredibly unpopular pokemon fanfic just for the sake of my childhood, and a short story and one shot for The World Ends With You. Both of which are also very unpopular. Pretty much everything gets under 10 views an update except for the FXIII stories and two of my FFVII, which are in the middle in popularity.
I like writing darker stories, but I also like sprinkling in comedy whenever I can. On the dark side of which I'm convinced I could do a lot worse and keep pushing myself. I'm not a fan of romance stories, but I love how romance can effect a story, so I still put it in. But even in DATW which I consider a romance story, it won't be the main facet like most books stupid teenage girls read. It should never be used too much or the plot drowns in it and it ruins the book. I have some adventure and angst as well.
I try to make my stories as creative as I can. I've been constantly applauded for my originality for DATW, and I can tell you the truth that one of my stories has something in it which not only have I never seen another story on the site do, or has my friend and sister (who also have accounts), nor any fans or any of their fans even seen be done before.
If you have any interest, but don't like dark stories, I can warn you what to stay away from.

hmm sounds interesting. i was just wondering what the 'something' is that you mentioned that no other story has?
i too write very dark stories, normally about very serious topics and i've actually had a short story and poem published before (which was HUGE for me) and im working on my novel now im also not a huge fan of romance stories, but it is true that they gain a lot of viewers, and if you are careful you can avoid cliches. do you write any original stories too?

I've written a one shot but I haven't actually written anything proper in terms of original stories. I do intend to be a published author so yes I have a lot of original stories, a shite tonne really, they just haven't been written down. My avatar actually is one of my favourites, Eunhyuk. He's from one of my darker stories, I'm not sure whether I actually want to write it, but everyone who knows him reeaaalllly wants me to. I intend to start writing a story I intend to publish in a year or two. It's a story that I created with my friend and sister as children, but I've revised it of course and I that way made it my own work, but I'll credit them as well of course, it was their idea originally.
Romance stories are crazy with views, and since Fanfiction net allows you to put up to four characters as being main characters in the story (until recently it was only two) it's allowed me to put all three of the main DATW characters, and together they make up some of the two most popular match ups for FFXIII. Now that's going to attract fans even if Light and Fang are only there because they are equal main characters. That is the only reason, I've yet to have a fan catch on to that.

Congrats on actually having something published. My dad's got a friend who (anonymously) is actually one of the best poets in Australia. He's published a couple things himself, it's really interesting since he's a bikie kinda guy with tattoos and all. You wouldn't see him as that sensitive. No one else I know has published anything, but my sister intends to as well.

Aah, about that something, do you have any interest in the story? if you do, you really should check it out yourself, if you don't, then its perfectly fine to tell you.

sounds like me (with the millions of ideas for stories) i have so many i cant keep track or write them all O.o
wow a year or two, thats really fast! sounds interesting, but it might take longer my plan was to finish in a year and i gave up on that goal pretty quick -_-
to be honest i have never heard of DATW or FFXIII, but i still get what your saying about romance- no matter what your story is about you should add a little of it or it wont be a hit.
thank you! it was a huge deal for me since i think i was 10 at the time (im 14 now). thats amazing, you're really lucky then to get support! well you know what they say "never judge a book by its cover". it sounds like you have a family full of creative writers.
i might read the story, but as i dont know the actual anime (is it an anime?) its based on im not 100% sure as i might be a bit confused. and i like to spoil things for myself anyway so maybe if you could tell me?

My sister's no different than me story wise.
Final Fantasy is a incredibly famous video game series by Japanese video game company Square Enix. So right country, wrong thing.
There's over 70 games in all, but only 14 in the main series. XIII is the thirteenth one (obviously) and is also the worst. By a lot. There was a lot of problems in making the game and god it showed.  The story had A LOT of potential, it just got pulled off terribly. The characters are amazing. So I love writing about them. If you are interested in any story of mine, most of them are AU, with few exceptions. Deceiving Love is one of them. That's the story with the really big twist I've never done before. I can describe the story of thirteen to you, but I'll do it later (next comment I guess) as I'm attempting to finish my oldest story REI right now and want to be done by tonight. Hope i'll succeed.

I finished it seven minutes ago...I'm not sure how to feel. I started it in July when I was fourteen, I'm now seventeen. It's been a part of my life for most of high school, it just seems insane that its all over.
The twist is that the (game's) main character's little sister (a very smart, mature, and kind young woman) is the serial killer in the story. Her mother belonged to a group of assassins which she was also raised in, without any of their other family members knowing. So she grew up with killing being a normal (an enjoyable thing). But when she meets someone (who later becomes her fiancé), she realises how insane she is, and wants to stop, but as a part of her is unable to, she ends up forming multiple personality disorder. One which is the kind character represented in the game (and all fanfics that portray her correctly, as some have her as an annoying cheerleader type person, which holy hell she is not), and the other is my precious Arianna, a childish and blood thirsty killer who values everything as a game. The story just really goes between Ari killing violently and Serah breaking down over the blissful ignorance of her family and friends. I get told that DATW is creative soo much, but I think it's preposterous giving the type of story DL is. I've read stories where Serah has had to kill, but only because she had no choice, and even those stories are extremely rare. She's a wonderful and sweet girl, who'd never harm a fly. That's why it's such a twist.

Coincidentally, the last thing I submitted to this site is a Deceiving Love inspired picture, if you're wondering what on earth they look like. The pink haired one is Serah, on the left is Ari.

oh wow that would be crazy at least now you have time to work on you own original story.
that sounds interesting, of course as i have never played/watched the (original) story i cant say whether i find it such a huge twist as i do not know the actual character. its always great to have a huge twist in a story to spice things up and make it more interesting.
i saw the picture- it loks great

The trench coat was HELL to do. The shading either went too light or too dark, and the highlights gave me even more hell. They kept turning out absolutely dreadful. I'm still happy with the result, I'm happy that my brother found the tablet pen (which was missing for years mind you), it makes everything so much easier.

I can explain XIII's story to you if you're interested. It was a good game, mostly character wise, they were very real, and just absolutely fantastic. Though one of the characters (who was voiced by an Aussie woman too) was forced to mimic the Japanese voice actor as much as she could, and the result wasn't very good. The emotions were amazing to the point that she owned the Japanese voice actress in one of the very emotional scenes, and on average Seiyuus (Japanese voice actors) are far better than American voice actors. They seem to care more. The voice acting I the game is of a high level. But that doesn't really make up for much. The battle system was so easy they hyped up the fiends and bosses health's to make it harder, which really just makes battles drag on....and on....and on....
The story's also pulled off wrong, really wrong. It starts with a puzzler opening, which purposely tries to make you puzzled by leaving out information that gets filled I as you get more into the story, but the first time someone described them to me, mentioned that if it flops, it reeeaaalllly flops. And this game was the first thing I thought of. It wouldn't be fun to play trust me, so never bother. I've barely played it, everyone I know has finished it, that's all. Sorry for the rant, but its a really hated game, but I adore it, so I have a habit of reasoning with myself. Final Fantasy are usually almost perfect games with fun battle systems, and great stories and characters, but XIII doesn't live up to it. It would have been valued highly if it wasn't FF funnily enough. But it had a name to live up to, and it just didn't.
If you're still interested in knowing it, I'll tell you, though I think I'm just shamelessly self promoting to get someone else to read my stories. DATW's the odd one out, I'm not very popular at all.

im actually not much of a game person, i watch some animes but event then im REALLY picky i know what you mean though, and i hate it when sequels dont live up to what they could have been -_-
self promoting is good if you dont then no know will know about your stories ^_^

I grew up with games, I'm RPG focused because it was all Nintendo games. Zelda was very important to me, I've even been using it to cheer me up today (and last night) because my brother's baby rabbit died. I've gotten into Square Enix recently in comparison. The games in the main series have similarities, like enemies and names, but they're not interconnected besides that. XIII has two sequels though, and it does fit what you said. XIII-2 was horrific. XIII had problems, but when they tried to fix them up, they just made it worse with a pointless character death. I haven't played the final game, so I'm being hopeful that third time is the charm.
If you're picky with animes, I know Shingeki and Higurashi are good ones. I'm currently watching Code Geass and Yugioh (the original one). Geass is amazing I must say.
I have a habit of self promoting wherever possible on account of my most favourite story being just about my most unpopular. It is FFVII however, the most famous Square Enix game, which features the most famous video game character death in history, needless to say, there is  a lot of fanfics about it. It's hard to get popular.

oh thats really sad i recently came home from school to find my cat had been shot and thrown in the creek, its always very sad to loose a pet. well you know what they say, thid time lucky
oh i've watched higurashi, its one of my favourites! i enjoyed code geass too, but i only saw the second season (spoiler- the ending is sooo sad!) i also like animes such as Shiki (bit violent though), Deadman Wonderland and another. i used to enjoy naruto when i was younger, but after a while they started dragging it on and they contradicted themselves when it came to characters personalities.
that is the problem with writing, its hard to get your name out- especially with fanfics and stories that cannot actually be published as they are not your own original ideas -_-

Oh I'm so sorry for you. When I was 11 my cat (who was six at the time) was sun baking on our driveway like she always had. She never left and never hurt anybody, but a man down the street owned racing Greyhounds (always five at the time). One day one got out and he couldn't manage to get it back, it came up the street and found her, started chasing her too. Our lovely neighbour tried his best to save her, but she was so frightened she died of shock. The Greyhound even picked her up and carried her onto his driveway and returned to the backyard. That was even more traumatic than losing the little madam, considering Australia and bunnies don't mix. She didn't have sweat glands, it's very easy for her to overheat. It happened to my cousin's rabbit yesterday too, just a day after our little girl.

Higurashi is practically my favourite, and funnily enough, You've done with Geass what my friend did with Higurashi. She watched the second season, so she didn't think it was as good as we were saying, because she missed out so much information. My sister's already watched Geass, so I knew it was sad. Also I know that all the characters and happening are referencing King Arthur characters. But the only one's I know are Lancelot, which is Suzaku, that one's painfully obvious. Kallen is another I know, but I've forgotten her name, I just know the character she's based off it Irish/English, my sister told me about her. I intend to watch Shiki, but I've got a whole list I want to watch in order. I don't really know anything about it, but it's fine, I like going into anime's blind. Deadman Wonderland was the first violent anime I watched, so it's total nostalgia for me. The manga finished recently, it was really good.
I'm still reading through Naruto, but the war dragged out so long it got boring. I felt bad because Naruto's what got me into anime and manga, and what got me through the day when I was being bullied. My sister decided to reread it, also to read what chapters we hadn't actually read in the manga. I decided to do the same, and was really glad I did. I remembered a lot of facts I forgot, and got myself back into it. It's hard to notice but the war is just tying off loose ends. Unfortunately there is a lot of loose ends. So it took a shit load of time to do. I have no idea what Bleach is doing, so I've lost interest in it, I'm only reading it because I want to see it to its finish.
My fanfics are usually AU and at time OOC, so in that way they are my own ideas, there's just names and certain world logics that are not mine.

oh thats very sad :/ pets/cats can make the best companions and its the most heartbreaking thing to loose them.
yes Higurashi is brilliant! i was really confused at first (with the whole coming back to life) so i googled it and spoiled it all out of desperation haha wow i didnt know that about the king arthur characters! and i actually dont know most of the characters names, in fact i missed so much most of the anime was confusing to me shiki is great and i highly recommend it! its a brilliant story and the characters are very interesting. for me the first voilent one i watched was higurashi, although i found deadman wonderland quite confronting with the amount of people who died. i havent read the manga, but i plan to. i actually have pretty much the same story for naruto (still reading, although i got bored, and it got me into anime and manga and it also helped me through some very tough stages of me life. it is very sad they ruined it in the newest chapters) i did that a while ago (reread) but it used up alot of the internet (we pay for ours) so i had to stop a few chapters before Sasori's death i believe. what kind of loose ends? i cant remember which of those loose ends there were haha
the situation with bleach sounds familiar to naruto as well as im reading it to see its finish. as with the fanfics i tend to do the same, sadly using the same names means none of the work can be published

Serah-Valentine In reply to Meerabelle [2014-10-15 06:21:46 +0000 UTC]

I almost spoilt Higurashi for myself, but I stopped myself just before I did. Lucky me. Yes Geass is VERY content heavy, so a whole shit tonne of things happened in the first season, more things that would happen sometimes in an entire story. So you missed A LOT I must say. People always told me that Higurashi was violent, so that's why I watched it, since it was meant to be so messed up. I was disappointed as usual. It wasn't near as much as I had hoped. The one time I've watched something without disappointment over not being dark enough was Mirai Nikki. Story wise I was of course still disappointed, but Yuno wise, I wasn't. She's the craziest character I know. It was amazing.
We have a good deal with our internet, we have a decent speed and 200 GB, and its connected to our TV, so we have a couple hundred channels. It was a limited time deal, so we can't get it again if we change. We're not changing however, if we get the bare minimum of channels and switch down to 100 GB instead, we'll only save fifty bucks. It is slightly over a 100 per month, but we get all our entertainment that way, it'd be  a waste that way. So I can do whatever I want because I'm not on enough to use it all up. I just watch a shit tonne of videos. Manga does nothing to it. My computers are old and very slow, it took my computer five minutes and four attempts to load this page. The loose ends were pertaining to the other character, like Gaara and such. There were a few details left out about them, and the war opened up a path to explain them. It was really sweet, just took waaaay too long. I don't think the recent chapters are bad, I'm actually quite enjoying them, it was the chapters before Kaguya appeared that I didn't like. But I'm biased, there's no one in Team Seven that I dislike, I mean Sasuke's a freaking asshole, but I'm a fangirl. I'm actually angry about that, I had a war with him for five years not to be, and I lost. It was so difficult for me to admit to that that I wouldn't concede that I'd lost that it probably happened when I was rereading and near the end of part one (like the Naruto Gaara fight) and I had been done for three weeks before I admitted I'd well and truly lost.
I forgot a lot of the loose ends too by the way, so I didn't remember them either.
I have a fanfic that I'd love to write, but I've decided to change the names and make it an original and publish it. It's AU and OoC enough that you'd only notice if you were obsessed with XIII or knew me.

wow honestly i found Yuno a terribly constructed character and very predictable O.o she was one of the let downs for me, because i thought she could have been made so much better. i actually guessed the ending of the series because of Yuno
i dont think its the violence that makes Higurashi brilliant but the way people die (Rika stabbing herself in the head) and the amount of insanity in it. oh wow 200GB i only have 12 haha.
i think sasuke is a selfish prick and who is very narrow minded and therefore not as smart as people give him credit for. not to mention he contradicts himself, but i think that was a mistake fo the author and ruined his character slightly. in fact i dont like sakura much either because anyone who likes a total fuckhead for no apartment reason needs a reality check. i much prefer characters which are original and have a past that brings reason to their behavior (Haku is a good example, or Sasori.) i didnt mind the start of the war but it got pretty boring fast.
haha that sounds like a good plan and i wish you the best of luck i used to be a huge fanfic writer but i now mainly write original (especially since im working on my own novel) im still somewhat working on my naruto fanfic, but i tend to have a lot of work to do so i dont have the time

Serah-Valentine In reply to Meerabelle [2014-10-16 10:23:38 +0000 UTC]

It wasn't how she was constructed (I could predict her at parts) it was just that she actually fitted what people told me she was, unlike the violent series I get into because I was told they are violent. Higurashi is brilliant, that it's violent is a completely different factor. How they happen is amazing and so is everything else. It's just that I got told that it was incredibly violent, and frankly it just wasn't. It rarely if ever actually showed you what was happening it heavily implied instead

our internet it huge I know. The drawback is that our technology is crap, so my computer is slow even though my interest isn't. It makes things difficult.
I agree with Sasuke being a fucking bastard, the fangirl status is just his appearance. It's still reason enough to be angry. He's battle smart, he's not actually smart, people don't always realise that. There's a lot of things he could never figure out, but if it was in a fight he can. Which means he has a better chance of predicting his opponents over other people, even if they were considerably smarter and experienced then him. Sharingan is also a help of course, that's what screwed Deidara up, he didn't consider it enough. As a result of doing English Extension, I've gained a habit of analysing everything, and one of those things happened to be this series, particularly Sasuke. It's why I'm rely biased towards any characters in it, because I make sense of their logic. It is honestly in his character to contradict himself, because his point of view changes so much it's generally going to be like that. He's connected to a tonne of characters, and all of them are in a good position to influence him. That's a lot of the reason why. But it's also because he's so sincerely messed up, after Itachi destroyed his mind no one tried to help, they just let the poor kid drown in his misery and become twisted. Naruto was the first person to try and do anything, but it'd already been years, so it was already too late. If someone had interfered earlier on, he could have retained some of the person that he was as a child. He was actually nice back then. It mentioned in the series as well that he is a result of all the bad things in the world. The chain of events that occurred years before he was even born led to him becoming the person he was. All the bad things just reached a head, and he was the victim of all of it. And what Itachi did took away his ability of being able to deal with it, and grow stronger for it. It's something that Naruto can do because he's in the right situation to be so, it's why he's so resilient and amazing. Sasuke's intended to be the opposite of him, so obviously he's not going to have the ability. It's not like I'm saying it's not bad what he's done, it's horrible, but I've just analysed him too much for my own good.
The reason I like Sakura has a lot to do with her abilities. By Shippuden she is actually very useful, and its not like she's weak either, it's just that she's being compared to Kakashi, Naruto and Sasuke who are some of the strongest characters in the series, so of course she's left behind. Her actual strength isn't even what's important with her, and she's still physically strong anyway.
She's an amazing medic and knows so much on the subject that even at the start of Shippuden it was clear that she could rival Tsunade. Not at that point of course, but it was possible. I believe at this point she has surpassed her, but people's bias towards her a blinding them to that. Just because she hasn't surpassed her teacher to the extent her team mates have, a lot of people are acting like it never happened. Some parts of her personality bug me of course, mainly in part 1 where she was more immature, but she still has her moments. I'd hate it if she ended up with Naruto, I really would. She hated him at the start and yes she likes him now (in a friendly way I hope), but their relationship is much better as friends. She went for too long liking Sasuke for it to be right. She's still too good for Sasuke though, he's just too much of an asshole. I don't think she knows why she still likes him, I know it's clearly hurting her however. I believe that as Naruto clings to the past, so is she, and that's what's allowing those feelings to remain. I think she's tried to erase them because he really doesn't deserve it, but as you can tell she failed.
Sorry for the long explanation. I truly have analysed them too much for my own good. You mentioned about having a past to bring reason to their character, I can mange that with Sasuke without thinking. I can with a lot of characters, it's kinda weird.

There's probably a shit tonne of mistakes in that that I can't fix up, my computer's stuffing up on me, and while I'm being a grammar Nazi too. That doesn't go well together.

oh well if your into violence Shiki has a pretty violent ending (maybe more than future diary), you see a whole lot of slaughter and brutal death in that anime. Yuno was ok, but like i said i found her pretty boring, future diary didnt do much for me, the idea of the whole plot had been used many times before.
and i agree about sasuke being battle smart, but not otherwise. im actually very bias on all characters, but sasuke is just so out of it that his character is no longer consistent. until itachi's death, although i hated him, he was a good character. but now he is just stupid and i real let down on the series (as are many characters) i think the only characters that still make sense and are any bit interesting now are Itachi (finding out about him is very interesting even in the most recent episodes), Naruto (to some extent) and a few other minor characters. im HUGELY picky on characters, a reason why i dont read much, because im very good at picking unrealistic or badly done characters/plots and so i give up on a lot of shows/series. i tend to take characters apart until i can tell they are just characters and not real people. thats what let sasuke down mainly because he doesnt seem real, he is too much put together with not enough thought put into him. if the author had spend a bit more time on him he could have made him more 3d.
i dont mind sakura, but honestly i find her forgettable (again she is not real enough, not enough work done on her to make 3d- in fact i think the only character who is somewhat close to being 3d if naruto). im happy as long as she doesnt end up with sasuke, because i think he should never be with anyone. it doesnt suit him.
i analyse characters a lot too, but i tend to think of them more as human than characters and i can almost garentee sasuke is out of line (i know quite  a lot of criminals as my mother is a councilor, and all evidence shows that even after all that sasuke would not come out the way he is. his past is not big enough for that, because he is meant to be a 'strong' character. if he was weak it would make more sense)  i think we are quite similar in judging characters.

i hope all of that made sense, i tend to know things better in my head then on paper. im not worried at all about grammar, i sort of rely on my laptop to automatically fix errors.

I'm a grammar Nazi on myself I reckon, though don't correct others. I just looks at their writing and wonder why they don't know how to spell the most basic words. Yours is alright, I'm not directing this at you, since you just miss capitals, a mistake I made until about a year and a half to two years ago. Spell check legitimately taught me how to spell better. I memorised the spelling when it corrected me.

It's good know its as violent as that. I watched Mirai Nikki with my friend who's been introduced to anime more recently. So it's a higher quality than her usual shows, I'm probably affected by that. But also some of the characters had characteristics about them that I like. I also feel like mentioning that I finished Code Geass last night. I went crazy and watched six episodes instead of two like I was  intending to. I never ruled it out ending like that, even from before I had any remote idea what the hell the story was about. Which is why I'm just like 'That was a good ending', and my sister is still grieving two months on. They kind of switched places at the end there, which was certainly interesting. I'm not even sure what happened and when, the episodes were sooo content heavy. In a good way, but still.
The reason why we've ended up with different ideas about Sasuke has a lot to do with, he is not a strong character. It was a misconception from those around him as a child that gives people this idea. What Itachi did to him just destroyed him. He's easily influenced because he is so weak, and he doesn't learn from mistakes.
I analyse characters a lot, but not always to the point that you do it. Though I've done it before. Sasuke is simply a flawed character, you can come across people like that too. People who are completely irrational and though they don't seem like it they can be incredibly weak and pitiful. And that's what he is.
On the part about Sakura, sometimes it can be difficult writing characters opposite your gender, and that's what he's done. She's not 3D in a lot of occasions. Though I don't find her point of view on Sasuke unrealistic. It's sadly normal to come across a woman who's been treated like shit by somebody, and yet they continue to care for them. It's a similar situation to her, though he hasn't really given her any physical injuries, he has mentally. Though, my like for her does have a lot to do with her abilities.
I wouldn't like to analyse Naruto too much, because he's a certain character type that I really like. Amidst all the dark stories that I adore, sometimes you come across people like him, and they become the little light at the end of the road.

haha yer i know what you mean. i actually know that i miss capitals, i just dont feel the need to correct them. im typing quick and as long as people can still read it its fine (i obviously dont do this for my novels, just on comments)

shiki takes quite a long time to get violent, but at the end you have a lot of brutal massacre. Code geass has a brilliant ending, i cant say much for the rest of the plot as i missed nearly all of it. as with sasuke and sakura i completely agree. until recently i found it incredibly difficult to write from a male characters point of view, but as my novel is mainly made up of male characters i did a lot of work on developing them and now find them just as easy as female characters.
i think the author of naruto is pretty brilliant, but started to loose interest and wanted the money more than the story so that was his downfall. my motto for writing is that no character should mean more than another (meaning i develop all of my characters until i feel really strongly towards them and they feel real to me- even if its a really minor character only mentioned once) because i can always tell if an author hasn't put much thought into a character, because they instantly become forgettable or flawed.
to be honest i only watch dark themed and serious animes, so naruto was hugely out of my normal 'interest' zone and i didnt expect to like it. although it does have serious themes its still done in a pretty lighthearted manner (if you have seen animes like shiki, elfen lied and even higurashi to some extent, which are so intense and brilliantly thought out it will make sense)
another anime i recommend is Elfen lied (pretty voilent and serious themed), but only if you can handle a lot of naked chicks haha. its not the best anime, because they never quiet finished it (the manga was better) and because i think they included some humor that didnt suit the situation (higurashi does this too)

I used to be like that with capitals. But as I got to writing I just found it easier to keep up the standard everywhere. Not everything I've had had such wonderful spell check. I had to learn to correct my own mistakes even while typing.
I would have preferred not to know of a massacre, that has extremely upset me. I should have warned you that I don't like knowing the slightest thing about anything. I wanted to punch my sister for telling me that Code Geass had Mechas. I won't punch you of course, it's not like I can. But for the future I recommend making no comments on a series I haven't watched. When I say I like going in blind, I really like going I blind. I'm not trying to be mean at all, it's almost an OCD thing for me.
His portrayal of Sakura has improved, but as she started out not well, there's only so much that he can do. With Kishimoto, at the moment I'm just curious to see if he can resolve Sasuke. If he can't manage he'll kill him of course, but I'm curious if he can make out a good situation with him living. It's not my ideal want even with Sasuke (for some reason) being a character I like, but it's just that it's incredibly difficult to successfully do, so if he is successful, he'll have my respect.
Naruto got me into anime, or back into it I guess. I watched a few shows as a kid but when I couldn't watch them anymore I gave up quickly on trying to find them. I got into darker stories about two or three years ago, and they've since become what I prefer anime wise. Naruto is really nostalgic for me, so its why I haven't left it behind.
Shorter series are easier to plan out, Geass certainly was. With series like Naruto or Bleach, I'd just say 'Have fun', because god it's difficult. There's so much content its difficult to keep it all together and make it make sense. I can't blame any of those authors for going off the point a little. Or even a lot. I doubt I could manage what they've done and still are doing.
I've already watched Elfen Lied, and read the manga. Over a year ago now and I watched it long before I read it. It was compared to Higurashi when I first came across it. So it disappointed me. The Higurashi fans were saying that their series was more violent. But it wasn't, it wasn't the violence that mattered in Higurashi, it was the twisted nature and that brilliant comradery. They seemed to have missed the point. Elfen Lied is just plainly violent, so they won that match. But as a series itself it just doesn't compare, it's shocking, but it has nothing special. It's why it fades from my memory. Even Mirai Nikki had a romantic ending to separate it from the insane violence the rest of the series was. The anime of Elfen Lied didn't have anything. The manga was better in the end, because it managed to give a satisfactory ending that the anime couldn't.

oh its not really a spoiler, its pretty much expected from the first episode. i actually google things before i watch them (im the opposite of you) to make sure its worth watching. hmm kishimoto lost my respect a while ago (as i said i critic pretty harshly) and i think sasuke will be saved in a cheesy predictable way.
im pretty much exactly the same with getting in to anime through naruto and not leaving it behind. i think if you cant handle a big series you shouldnt do it, i personally find it frustrating. naruto could have ended a long time ago, and yet kishimoto wanted more money so its been dragged on (im not saying i could do any better on a big series, im just saying that at least have the sense to know when to end it)
i think elfen lied had quiet a tragic beautiful story to it, but only certain people would see it (it wasnt made for a varied audience- i personally saw through the violence, maybe you didnt. it depends how you  interpreted the story). higurashi is one of my favourites, but there were many parts that could have been done better and it still had many faults. the animation wasnt great either and rena was so typical it drove me mad. apart from that it was pretty brilliant.
for me mirai nikki was incredibly boring and dull. i think it was like what elfen lied was for you. i just found its stupid and full of nonsense. i think the only part i liked in mirai nikki was the end where younger Yuki says she loves her parents and her parents say they lover her too (i found that sweet), i also loved the terrorist girl (i cant remember their names.) but i think she should have died in the explosion, it would have been a better ending.  there were actually i few good antagonists i liked such as the one who was a priest in the beginning and the couple that died in the building collapse. but the characters seemed wasted with pathetic main character (the boy who yuki protects and loves)

I guess it isn't as bad if it's so expected. I'm just really weird with knowing stuff. I usually go off recommendations, so I'll know if its good or not prior to watching it even with knowing little details. Admittably, I googled Higurashi before I watched it, but I haven't done it since then. I just check the length of a series now before heading into it if I wasn't told it by the person who recommended it to me. If it's over a 100 episodes I won't have the time. I'm impatient.
I'd hate it if it was cheesy, if he's going to live, I'd like it to be at least decent. Naruto needs to be really Naruto about it. Otherwise I'd prefer him to die.
I like the story in Elfen Lied, I really did, I did see its meaning and all. The manga got it more than the anime which was unfortunately cut short. I probably sounded really negative about it. It had less plot then other things I'd watched at the time, and it had been compared to Higurashi when I learnt of it, so it didn't live up to my expectations. But it was still good, I'm not trying to deny that. Though I think how you're talking about Mirai Nikki did fit my reaction to it. I honestly did enjoy it because it had character types I liked, Yuno was joy. I can still enjoy characters when they're predictable sometimes. Though honestly, she wasn't as predictable to me because she's a lot like my friend, and I'm always underestimating my friend, so I did to Yuno in turn.  The terrorist was Minene, she's based off Minerva, so that's probably why she got to live because Minerva is an important god like Juno and Jupiter, who Yuno and Yukki were based off. I would have liked it she'd died though, it was nice she'd gotten a happy ending with magical floating babies and all, but it would have been a dramatic and amazing death worth of her. Ai and Marco were nice too, I liked their death. It's not that I remember all their names by the way, coincidentally you referred to all that I did remember.

i agree with a series being too long. i normally dont watch things with over 25 episodes (unless there are 25 episodes and 2 seasons). i tend to loose interest.
i agree, but honestly i'd like him to die
in some ways i found elfen lied better than higurashi, i mean i love higurashi but it sometimes strayed of plot which elfen lied rarely did. mirai nikki was fun to watch and i didnt know that about characters being named after dogs. Minene deserved to have that dramatic death, her surviving was a bit of a let down to her character. i did like Ai and Marco's death but i also liked the world where she's pregnant and they're happy

I just have a lot of stuff to do, so I'd like to watch something that isn't particularly long so I can go onto another series without taking up too much time. I was only fine with Code Geass because I watched it during the holidays and watched two episodes a day instead of my usual one. Contrary to how I normally am, I did watch (and read) Shugo Chara which was about 100. But during the holidays while I watched it I kept up the average of five episodes a day. It still took awhile. It wasn't even particularly good, it was repetitive and all. It's meaning was good, about learning to be yourself and being happy in your own skin, but the only thing truly enjoyable about it was Ikuto. He's an amazing character, not that he's 3D (though he's considerably more real than most characters in the series), he's just so fun. He's involved in the weirdest inside joke in my group of friends.
Higurashi just had a lot of point I liked, Elfen Lied didn't really. My friend still adored Nyuu, she's glad I got her onto the series. The brutal killings are much her thing.  Did you write dogs on accident, or purpose, or did I write it? I'm not sure, but that doesn't say gods in all I know. My sister told me all the characters represent a type of insanity, and I found out that they all represent a different roman god instead. I never found the insanity thing. I've forgotten most of then, I just know Minene=Minerva, Yuno=Juno, Yukiteru=Jupiter. They're important gods, so the characters are important. Ai and Marco are Mars and Venus, who are the gods of war and love, who are also a couple. So the gods connect to them through their name and certain parts of either their personality or story. The couple are most obvious. The names that play at the start of the first opening are also all the god names of the characters I'm pretty sure. The other world is nice, I was so happy to see that she was pregnant, and they even had rings. The only good thing with Minene was that it was a happy ending that someone who'd gone through so much crap deserved. It would have been nice for to die too, that was also fitting. She was content with that end. But she got magical floating babies instead. My friend lost her shit at it.

i tend to just watch everything at once XD i have never heard of shugo chara before. i actually hated nyuu and lucy, they both drove me crazy haha
oops i meant gods, guess thats what happens when you write too quick. actually mars and venus are based of greek gods Aphrodite and ares and they arent a couple, they just liked each other a lot. Aphrodite was married to another god but cheated on him with ares. the romans just took over the whole thing and renamed them like the planets.
yes i agree i loved the other world, i think it was my favourite part of the story because it just seemed fair they all got something nice (some characters really deserved it such as marco and ai) haha i cant actually remember the floating babies, i just remember she had babies and that other guy she married was going of to catch the her in the other world.

Shugo Chara's pretty good. It's not outstanding but I still liked it. I think it would have been better were it fifty episodes not a hundred. It dragged on a little. But Mahou shoujos can get like that pretty easily. The only character that I really liked was Ikuto, he's fantastic. Not that the others are bad at all, it's just that Ikuto put them all to shame.
I was okay with Lucy and Nyuu, but I still find my friend's obsession odd. I'll say its because she's psychopathic (my friend I mean), so all the killing and the random adorableness just must have seemed amazing to her.
I kept almost writing dogs every time I wrote gods too. Curse whoever pointed out to me that they're similar. It's a common mistake, and even easier to make while typing. It was easier calling them a couple, I know those gods were quite promiscuous. I doubted it was a proper relationship between them. And I know the whole thing with Greek Roman gods, I'm good with remembering who's who under the different name.
The other world was very cute, they went through all that crap, and at least in some sense they all got a happy ending. It was just a different world. Ai and Marco really deserved that I thought. I remember Minene's floating babies really well. I think one was only sitting on the couch with her, but the other was floating in-between her and her partner just randomly like it was normal and no one questioned it. It was so strange, but then I thought it was really adorable as well, that she could actually pass her powers down.
And fun fact, that I feel like telling people (because it really is as stupid as it sounds). I rewatched Geass again already...yesterday, all of it. All fifty episodes in one day. Took us 23 hours. My friends hadn't seen it yet and now I think I've caused them psychological trauma. It was amazing. So I might have a pounding headache at the moment. They're probably worse, they were in tears at five separate occasions at least. I was grinning like a madman at the end because I knew what was coming and they didn't. I hid it behind a pillow so they wouldn't get suspicious. All I know it I'm never going to do that again. It was exhausting mentally just having to sit there for so long. Don't get ideas, never do that. It's literally painful.
