Notice a pattern here? Now don't get me wrong, I love this fandom. It has changed my life. I've made so many friends ever since I've joined the fandom and dare I say, I've been shaped into a better person. That being said, this fandom has a nasty habit of bashing aspects of the show that they don't like. Especially ones that break up the monotony. It really drives me so up the wall, I'm practically walking on the ceiling. And what's worse, people don't know how to let this stuff go. For example, some people are STILL bitching about last season's finale and Starlight even though it's been a year the they should really get over it by now. And I know this is far from the only fandom that does this.
I'll never understand the purpose of doing nothing but complaining about a show they're supposedly a fan of. So I thought of a somewhat humorous way of expressing my feelings using this clip of Finding Dory. I hope I don't come across as......I dunno. Passive aggressive? Or anything like that. I'm just trying to express my feelings without being mean or ranting and raving. Hopefully I'll keep this mindset when I start reviewing.

Because we're humans. As a species, we like having things constant. If it makes us happy and satisfied we don't want it to change because change doesn't lend itself well to creatures naturally. Some can take to it well, but others don't. It's sort of a natural response and it's how evolution works. However, we're intelligent enough to realize this so it is a bit much when this happens. Not just in this fandom, but in society as well. It's very disconcerting, but I've met enough nice people that it isn't more so.

Well, complaining about it constantly isn't gonna make anything better or make it go away. I just.......ugh! I dunno why people just can't get over themselves. and just take whatever the show gives us with a grain of salt.

To be fair, The Twilicorn thing should have had more time to be developed, the original Equestria Girls wasn't all THAT good, Starlight's reformation was rushed, as for the other things, I got nothing. But still no reason to flip one's shit.

But it's like you said, that's no reason (or even excuse) to react that way. And also, say what you want about Twilicorn and Starlight, but they make since if you think about them enough, and both had a pretty damn good payoff within the following seasons. Like I said, can't we just enjoy the show like the fans we claim to be? Or is everyone like Quibble Pants?

See, I don't think it being rushed is the problem. This is a TV series, not a movie. So the writers have time to follow things up and go more into aspects of certain things or characters even. Twilight becoming an Alicorn and Starlight reforming isn't the end of their development, it's a whole new beginning. How could it not be? When big changes like that happen to someone, their life practically starts all over again.
Bottom line: I think people are being to critical at the wrong things for the wrong reasons, and focus too much on what they want rather than what's actually there. And also, we tend to forget that this show ain't perfect. So flipping out over things like this just makes them look stupid in all honesty. Sorry to be so blunt.....

It's fine, you make a good point. Honestly, the season finale has probably helped Starlight's character since we know a bit more about her, she's a bit closer to Trixie, able to be fairly calm in stressful situations, doesn't like the idea of taking charge and, (like any Equestrian in their right mind) is terrified of Discord.

I don't think she was scared of Discord though. She didn't even flinch when he got pissed upon figuring out Fluttershy was kidnapped. And Trixie was more annoyed by him than anything. Even before their magic didn't work. I think they know that if you don't mess with his best friend, he won't do anything to ya.

Of course, if you DO, well, that's on you, hurting Fluttershy when knowing full well that she's friends with a guy who could turn you inside out with no effort if he so pleased.

I think they're both internally somewhat freaked out by how he looks and how strange he acts, but know not to voice it, lest they same something that sets him off. His temper isn't THAT mercurial, but when the guy can do who knows what to you, angering him, not smart. My point still stands though, I have nothing against reforming Starlight, or the Twilight ascension thing, however, I feel that, had it been given a bit more time to do, it might have turned out BETTER.

True. There's always room for improvement. But the show staff don't have the luxury to take ALL the time they need due to the limitations and restrictions Hasbro sometimes has on them. They can only do so much.And if I'm to be completely honest, I'd rather have things like that have a great payoff but a not so strong build up, rather than a great build up and a weak payoff. But that's just me.
Like I said, I agree that they could've been better. But that doesn't mean they were badly done.

Oh I'm well aware, I'm glad we got what we got, but, so far, Twilicorn got some great payoff, Twilight going toe to toe with Tirek being an example of that, and so far, Starlight being around has only paid off once and that's the finale. We'll see what she does in Season 7 though.

To be fair, it took an entire season to pay off Twilicorn (And Discord's reformation). And it's the same with Starlight. Like Twilight, there's more to come.
And if I am to be completely honest, the people who don't see that kind of piss me off because that's really close-minded. And if there's one out of three or so things that I don't and can't tolerate is close-mindedness.

Completely. I may have issues, or more accurately find that the show could have done certain things better, but there's only so much that can be done and I'm glad the show is as good as it is. I think this is one of the few, if not the ONLY reboot that not only got as big as it's predecessor, but SURPASSED it.

That's why people going nuts over trivial things like this bothers me so much. We all should be grateful that this show is as good as it is. when it could've easily been a train wreck. Especially after Lauren Faust (and a couple of the other old writers) left. But if anything, the show's actually has gotten better. To me at least.

I for one, am grateful that the show has had 6 (going on 7) seasons without the show deteriorating in quality. These guys obviously care about the show they're working on. There might have been a few hiccups here and there, but it's not worth bitchin' about.

Well at least Starlight's turn around wasn't out of nowhere and caused by Dei Ex-Magical-Rainbow-BS like Sunset's. At least Twilight got through to her with words.

And besides, considering how she was in her appearances, Starlight's arc wasn't at all rushed. She spent the entire season relearning everything she thought she knew, shaking off old habits, and learning to let go of the past. Her turn around may have been quick, but considering the circumstances with the time travel consequences that was shown to her, it's believable. And she did have good intentions. She wanted to make the world a better place by getting rid something she thought brings grief to others because of an incident she experienced when she was an impressionable child who obviously didn't know any better. And she was shown physical proof that she was wrong and was told by the princess of friendship herself how she should've gone about this, her eyes have finally been opened. And thus the turn around has formed. So, yeah. I think her reformation has more weight to it than what people think. Even more so than Sunset Shimmer's.

I would also like to give the exact same bronies you're targeting another piece of advice: YOUR TANTRUMS MIGHT BE THE REASON SO MANY PEOPLE ARE LEAVING THE MY LITTLE PONY FAN COMMUNITY.
