Description
The Fantastic Four. Marvel's first family. The Fantastic Four are some of the most famous characters in comic book history. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby wanted to take the concept of a superhero family and give it a serious sci-fi element, while also being very fun and adventurous. They've of course inspired many other superhero stories. Both from Marvel, and other companies. Most notably The Incredibles. The story of the Fantastic Four sees four individuals go on an outer space mission, only for the group to get caught in powerful cosmic rays which altered their bodies. After an emergency crash landing, they realized that something fantastic happened to each of them. Super scientist Reed Richards was transformed in the elastic Mr. Fantastic. Reed's love interest, Susan Storm, was transformed into the clearer than day Invisible Woman. Susan's hot headed brother, Johnny Storm, was transformed into the fiery Human Torch. And finally, Reed's good friend Benjamin J. Grimm was transformed into everyone's favorite ever-loving blue-eyed Thing. Separated, they are misfits, but together, they are the Fantastic Four!Unfortunately this famous superhero family hasn't been done justice in the movies. I mean, I actually thought the 2005 movie was fine despite its problems, I mean it wasn't very good, but it's not terrible, but yeah Rise of The Silver Surfer was bad, and I haven't actually seen the 2015 movie but from the clips I've seen, it's pretty terrible. However, now with Disney owning Fox, it's only a matter of time before Marvel's first family joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
For our director, we need someone who's worked on epic superhero family adventures before. I think Brad Bird is the obvious choice. After his success with The Iron Giant, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Tomorrowland, and three great Pixar films, I think he'd be perfect for the Fantastic Four. Despite not directing a lot of actual movies, he's praised as one of the best directors in Hollywood. For our writer, or writers, lets get the writers of Big Hero 6, Jordon Roberts, Robert L. Braid, Daniel Gerson, to give us a story that's an adventurous spectacle with great characters interactions as well. Not to mention a good theme of family. I would imagine the story starting off by telling us that Reed, Susan, and Johnny all met in Highschool. Reed was bullied a lot, but things changed when he made friends with a guy named Ben Grimm. Ben was the new kid in school, and was pretty lonely. As thanks for being friends with him, Ben kept the bullies off of Reed's back. The four of them hung out a lot together after that and formed and incredible bond, and even went to college together. At college, Reed meets a young Stephen Strange. The two becomes close friends, and together build a portal to another dimension. Theoretically that is. When the time comes to test it, Ben, Susan and Johnny all show up to watch. When they activate the portal, it all goes horribly wrong. Reed gets sucked in, and Ben, Susan, and Johnny try to grab him but get sucked in with him. The portal begins to malfunction and explode. Stephen is convinced they're all dead. In the future, Strange is using his powers as a sorcerer to bring them back. Eventually he does bring them back, but now they're not that same to say the least. Reed is furious at Stephen, not for taking all these years to find them, but for recklessly opening up a portal to the dimension they were the stuck in: The Negative Zone. Reed informs Strange that something was in there with them, and it wont stop until it gets to our dimension. That "something" is Annihilus. Now while Reed consults with Strange about this oncoming threat, Susan, Ben, and Johnny each try to find new ways to fit in with modern society.
I know that story is certainly different from the traditional Fantastic Four origin story, but really I'm just a fanboy with dreams and what Kevin Feige and his writing team come up with will no doubt be better.
Ok, we have our director, we have our writers, we have our story, and now we need a cast. So without further adieu, this is my Fantastic Four fancast!
Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic
The brilliant leader of the Fantastic Four. Reed Richards is the smartest mind on earth in the Marvel Universe, and even though his ego gets in the way, he cares deeply for his family, and is always working hard to help them. Unfortunately he's hard to get right. He's usually written too ways. He can either be really goofy, or a complete tool. I thought he was well written in Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes, but outside of that, I've never been that big a fan of the character. Kinda like Ant-Man in Avengers: EMH, I don't despise him, I just tolerate him. I'm hoping that the MCU can make me really love the character. We need an actor who not only looks the part, but can act like a brilliant scientist who does what he does for the sake of his family. Look, lets be honest, John Krasinski is the ultimate choice to play Reed Richards. John, like Chris Evans, started out as a more comedic actor, but as time went on, really broadened out his range. If you need proof on why, then I implore you to watch A Quiet Place. Magnificent film, directed by Krasinski himself, one of my favorite horror movies, and he was fantastic(no pun intended) in it. John has also said he wouldn't mind playing Mr. Fantastic so there's that issue solved. I also just really want to see him in a comic book/superhero movie.
Susan Storm aka Invisible Woman
The first lady of Marvel, Johnny Storm's older sister, and Reed's romantic partner. Susan has gone from the token female of the team to one of the most prominent heroines in all of comics. She's the voice of reason of the group. The conscience. Keeping the group in line and making sure thing don't get out of hand. She's to the Fantastic Four what Black Panther is to the Avengers, and Beast is to the X-Men. She analyzes a situation before acting. Jessica Alba was pretty terribly miscast as the Invisible Woman, and Kate Mara was just really bland. We need an actress that actually embodies who Susan Storm truly is. So I'll admit, like a lot of people, I went with Emily Blunt based off her chemistry with her real-life husband, John Krasinski. But to be fair, there's a reason everyone wants Emily and John to play Reed and Sue. When seeing their dynamic in something like A Quiet Place really shows that they can play the husband and wife duo phenomenally. Besides that, Emily herself is also jus a great actress. Have you seen her in Edge of Tomorrow, or Mary Poppins Returns? She's just fantastic. One look at her in either of those films and she practically is Invisible Woman. If she were to end up in the role, all we can really hope for is that they don't pull some stupid sexual jokes like in the first two Fantastic Four movies.
Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch
The cocky younger brother of Susan Storm. Johnny has always served as the more fun and free spirited one of the group. Serving as a source of comic relief. Almost like the Hawkeye of the group. He provides humor when its necessary, but also points out when something really weird or ridiculous is happening. Play him too much like a jerk and you get Chris Evans Human Torch, play him too...not like Johnny Storm and you get Michael B. Jordon Human Torch. Now that's not to say Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordon were bad in their roles as they tried their hardest with what they were given with, but what they were given with was trash. Thankfully, as we all know, they both eventually moved on to better things. Mainly better comic book movie roles. For our next actor, lets get a younger actor in here. Lets get Dacre Montgomery. Dacre is perfect for this type of role. Have you seen him as Billy in Stranger Things? He basically played a more mean spirited version of Human Torch. He was in Power Rangers as the Red Ranger, where he was also really good. I know some people would've gone with an older actor, but to be fair, Johnny is the younger sibling of Susan Storm. Lets get a more youthful actor in here. Plus, I'd like to see a bromance of sorts between Johnny and Peter Parker. Peter's one of the youngest heroes in the MCU, and needs someone to interact with. Lets give that job to Johnny. Darce is at least two years older than Tom Holland, so it could work. Dacre just has that particular amount of charm and charisma to make the role work really well. Also, I just really want to hear him yell 'FLAME ON".
Ben Grimm aka The Thing
The true heart of the team. Ben is Reed's best friend, and serves as the teams muscle. Even though for years he's always hoped that one day he wouldn't be a giant rock man, he's still willing to help save the day when the occasion rises. I actually really liked Michael Chiklis in the role of The Thing, since he did the best with what he was given to work with. Jamie Belle was ok, but he felt pretty wasted. Not gonna lie, I really, really, really wanted to cast David Harbour, but he's already in talks for the Black Widow movie so that kinda put a damper on things. Then again we don't know who he's playing so we'll wait and see. Looks like I'll have to go with my runner-up, Alan Ritchson. While as an actor, he's not as good as David Harbour, but even when he's in something I don't like, he's pretty good. You probably know him from his role in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, but if you're like me, then you know recognize him from his role as Aquaman in Smallville. Not gonna lie, he was so good in that role, that I honestly wouldn't have mind if he played Aquaman in a live-action movie. Oh, and he was Raphael in those two Michael Bay movie, but we don't talk about that. Alan is ripe for this type of role, and I think he really needs a break-out role. And I mean a serious break-out role. Although it all really depends on if he has something good to work with.
Annihilus
One of the most dangerous beings in the universe, Annihilus is a native to the Negative Zone. A dimension filled with nothing but anti-matter, and was presumed to have no life. All except for Annihilus and his army. Annihilus wields a weapon called the cosmic control rod, and he uses it to rule the Negative Zone and give himself strange abilities. Extremely paranoid, and very dangerous, Annihilus has tangled with Thor, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Avengers, and more famously, the Fantastic Four. Despite not being a very complex villain, he's one the creepiest. He's so creepy that in his Avengers: EMH episode, he was basically treated like a horror movie monster. If Annihilus was to appear in the movies, I imagine that he would either be a combination of practical effects and digital effects, similar to Apocalypse, or they would just give him the Thanos treatment. Either way, I'd actually like to see Michael Fassbender in the role. With the X-Men movies out of the way, Michael's open for a new comic book villain to play. I know a lot of people want to see him as Doctor Doom, but if you ask me, having him play Magneto, and then having him Doctor Doom feels like typecasting to me, which is something I usually try to avoid. That's not to say he wouldn't be a great Doctor Doom, because he no doubt would, but we'll get to my ideal Doctor Doom pick later. The brilliance of Annihilus is that he's a lot more psychotic and wild, meaning Fassbender could mold the role into his own. Kinda like what James Spader did with Ultron. That is as long as the script is good enough for him not to be another Kaecilius or Malekith. Fassbender has too much range for them to go into that route...then again I've been wrong before.
Norrin Radd aka The Silver Surfer
One of my favorite Marvel characters since I was a little kid. Silver Surfer used to be known as Norrin Radd from a utopian planet called Zenn-La. Yearning for a more adventurous life, his wish is granted when Galactus attacks his planet. Norrin, desperate to save his world and his love, Shalla-Bal, makes a deal with the great devourer, and he is exposed to a portion of the Power Cosmic, becoming the herald of Galactus, The Silver Surfer. However, after meeting the Fantastic Four, he rebels against Galactus and becomes one of earth's greatest heroes. Defending it from cosmic threats whenever the time comes. He even joins Namor, Hulk, and Doctor Strange at one point to become the Defenders. Believe it or not, even though the character himself was written poorly, I thought Doug Jones and Laurence Fishbourne did a good job as Silver Surfer. For our next take on the character, I originally had Oscar Issacs in the role, and if I hadn't already casted him as Gambit, then I would've put Keanu Reeves in this role. In the end, I went with Canadian treasure, Nathan Fillion. I know he was in Guardians of the Galaxy, but really that role was so small that it was basically a cameo. I really think he's more qualified for a serious big time Marvel role. Nathan is best known for his role on Firefly, and the voice of Green Lantern in serval DC projects. I just realized I've casted Alan Tudyk, Adam Baldwin, and Nathan Fillion in Marvel roles, who were all on Firefly. Noticing a pattern anyone? Anyway, if Warner Brothers isn't willing to put Nathan in one of their cinematic universes, than maybe Marvel Studios and Disney will. Not only do I just love his voice, but he's born for these types of roles. I think he has enough range as both an on camera actor and a voice actor to really make the Silver Surfer seem as cool as he actually is.
Galactus
The devourer of worlds! Galactus is a being as old as the universe itself, and spends his time traveling the universe and feeding on planet after planet until they are nothing but bits of stardust. He is not a villain, he is not a simple threat that can be reasoned with, he is a force of nature! Now if they bring Galactus into the MCU, they'll no doubt give him the CGI treatment, or something like that. I'm sure that whatever they do with Galactus, it'll be better than a FREAKING SPACE CLOUD!!! Sorry, sorry, lost the happy. Anyway, if he speaks, they'll probably bring someone into a recording booth to do his lines, and if you ask me, Michael Dorn is more than worthy of this part. Best known for his work on Star Trek, he has proven his worth both on camera, and in the recording booth. He has a deep, commanding, and booming voice that gives both Keith David and Kevin Michael Richardson a run for their money. He's had experience working in comic book projects before. Such as Ronan The Accuser in The Superhero Squad Show, Kalibak in Superman: The Animated Series, Kraven in Spider-Man: The New Animated Series, The Fright Knight in Danny Phantom, Captain Mozar in TMNT 2012, and of course he was the titular character in I Am Weasel. If you've seen him in any of those projects, then no doubt you agree that he could bring a commanding voice to the devourer of worlds.
Doctor Victor Von Doom
The ruler of Latveria. Doctor Victor Von Doom was Reed Richard's old college rival, who dreamed of upstaging Reed until the day came when an experiment went wrong and a horrible explosion brutally scarred Doom's face. After being expelled from his university, Doom traveled to Tibet and trained with a group of monks, and built himself a suit of armor, and an iron mask. Doom found himself planning revenge on those he believes are responsible for his failures. Doom also becomes a tyrannical dictator in Latveria who believes that the world would be better if he was in charge of it. Now if Doctor Doom were to appear in the MCU, I would have him be saved for the second or third Fantastic Four film. You can build him up, and give us an idea of how big of a threat he really is, but don't use him in the first film. Now as for the actor, we need a really imposing figure. Someone who doesn't have to look scary, since they'll be covered in armor and a cloak most of the time, but just sound really scary. Someone who sounds like the worlds scariest business man. And I can think of no better choice than Michael C. Hall. I love this mans voice. He of course is best known for his role as the titular character on Dexter, where he is just fantastic. And of course he was on Star vs. The Forces of Evil as the villain Toffee. I've heard that other people want him to play Hobgoblin, and he probably would be good in that role, but really, with a voice like his, he's more fit for a commanding villain than over-the-top psychotic villain. This man's voice is just amazing. He talks, and the whole room goes silent. And that's exactly what Doom needs. Doom is one of the most powerful people in the marvel universe so he needs to sound like it. I know he doesn't have the same, how do I put this? Physical prowess as Doom, but that didn't stop Lee Pace from being Ronan the Accuser, and he came out pretty intimidating, but the point is, I think Michael would be a great Doctor Doom. All he needs is a script that doesn't suck and it'll work.
So that was my Fantastic Four fancast. I know a lot of you will disagree with me on some of these, but I respectively ask that if you do disagree, then you tell me who you would cast in these roles and maybe we'll have a lively conversation. Anyway, this probably will be my last fancast for a while, and I mean it this time. I don't know if I'll cast Franklin Richards, Namor, She-Hulk, Kang, Mole Man, or characters like those in a part two. If this goes over well, then sure, I'll do that. Next time I do a fancast, it'll most likely be for the live-action Mega Man movie Capcom has planned, which is honestly something I am really excited for. Until next time my fellow true believers, have a fantastic night, be safe when looking out for Galactus, and take care.

the personality it's pretty much the same to keep it true to the character, their motivation it's based on what MCU wants...it's cool to see a female in these roles and will fit! It's like seeing a male doing a badass thing is nothing special or wow...but seeing a female doing it it's much more cooler and impressive! So here is the same thing, having a female Dr. Doom is more interesting than the male one, for 2 reasons, 1. It was done it before 2 times in movies and failed...so a female might be fresh take on the character, also being female and not being announced who will play Dr. Doom will make maybe a more interesting story, like maybe it will show up in Fantastic 4 movie and you never knew that she was Dr. Doom because you will never suspect the female, because you know Dr. Doom is male...like the shock reveal in Spiderman into The Spiderverse were it's a female Dr. Octopus and no one see it coming!
2. It can prove the people who when they hear female Dr. Doom, they see this... crustula.files.wordpress.com/2… which is horrible...the version should look something like this! worldofblackheroes.com/2011/11…

"I haven't actually seen the 2015 movie but from the clips I've seen, it's pretty terrible."
You shouldn't watch the entire movie. Regardless of whether or not somebody likes somebody likes superhero movies, the 2015 Fantastic Four movie is one of those movies that should never be watched by anyone. It's utterly ashamed that it's a superhero movie, trying to say the characters aren't superheroes, what they have aren't superpowers, and never actually stating the team's name on screen. Well actually saying the characters aren't superheroes isn't inaccurate, their behavior is closer to that of villains than heroes. They do a dangerous experiment, complain when the government wants to regulate their dangerous experiment, and ultimately black mail the government into giving them more funding. Somehow we are supposed to side with them even though the government doesn't do anything remotely evil.
I notice your premise for a first movie is pretty similar to mine. Did you look at my pitch?
My first pick as Galactus was Keith David, but either way, you picked somebody who could give a bombastic, larger than life performance.
I had the idea of introducing Doctor Doom as an ally to the team, but by this point I feel like it might fall into the trap of being a surprise villain. The MCU hasn't been using those every movie, but they have been using them often and it's really obvious when they appear. On the other hand, my idea for Doom would be to make him somebody who wasn't planning turning on the FF from the beginning. He would have helped build the portal, builds a design flaw that Reed notices and Doom refuses to fix because he won't admit he made a mistake. This leads to Doom getting scarred in the accident, and spending years thinking his friends were dead in accident he blamed Reed Richards for because he couldn't bare to admit it was his own fault.
By the present, Doctor Doom is the ruler of Latvaria and ultimately doesn't care for the physical pain he went through thanks to the accident. He is in fact grateful to see his old friends again, but wants an apology from Reed. Instead, they are stating the accident was Doom's fault, and he blames Reed for trying to turn them against him. Doom turns on Reed, trying to make him admit he is blame for the accident, not Doom. This leads to the Fantastic Four turning on Doom for real, but out of concern for his country they don't kill him. This only makes Doom all the more resentful, not to mention paranoid since in his mind, if his best friends turned on him, then anybody might betray him.

I honestly don't have any plans on watching it. At least not for now. I probably will end up watching it in the future, but who knows when that'll be. Until then however, I must say, it sounds even rose than I thought.
Not before doing this, but I just checked out yours, and I didn't realize your and mine was so similar. Guess we both were fans of the Ultimate Marvel Comics origins. Anyway, I like your pitch as well, and it's also similar to my original premise I had for the film, but I ended up scrapping.
Yeah, the MCU has done the surprise villain thing before and the last thing I want is for them to what Disney and Pixar has been doing with their villains for the last several years. I think with someone like Mysterio is can work very well because misdirection is what he's all about. With Dr. Doom, I feel like it would come off as...cheap, I guess is the right word. I like your idea for Dr. Doom. Him inadvertently creating his worst enemies is really cool since that's also how it works for a lot of villains. Like Ultron once said "everyone creates the thing they dread." I also like the idea of Doom not being able to admit his own mistakes.
My ideal Doctor Doom is a bit similar. I didn't mention this in the actual fancast, but my ideal Doctor Doom is someone who knew Reed in college, and had a deep hatred for him. When Reed, Ben, Susan, and Johnny all get sucked into the portal and it explodes, Doom was actually in the room with them, and he got caught in the explosion. Scaring his face, and spending the rest of his days in his home country building a name for himself. Believing that ruling Latveria, would be the best way to "one-up" Reed after he supposedly died. When he learns Reed survived he sends out his Doom bots to learn new info about him. When he has all he needs, he has a quick fight with the Fantastic Four, easily wins, then subtly lets Reed know who he is. But that's just the tip of the iceberg.

I felt like adjusting the origin so the team doesn't almost die due to Reed being a reckless jerk like he was in the original comic.
That's another interesting idea. I can't say if either idea is right or wrong, your idea is closer to the comic while I was going making the character less evil and go on a path to gradual self destruction. Most fans agree that Doctor Doom's real worst enemy isn't the Fantastic Four, it's himself, after 20th Century Fox of course. In my pitch with Doom and Magneto sharing the spot as the main villains, but eventually Doom's paranoia would end their alliance. Between Doctor Doom's genius, resources, and Magneto's following devoted mutants, their alliance would have been invincible. Picture an army of mutants who all have weapons designed by Doom tailor made to each of their powers.
But with Doom growing distrusting, Magneto splits things off. Doom is left alone when needed Magneto's help the most, allowing for the Fantastic Four and the Avengers to defeat when he's reached the point where the rest of the world, and even Latvaria can no longer stomach him.

Well personally having the team nearly die due to Reed's arrogance can work. For one thing, it's Reed Richards, his ego gets in the way of him making good decisions...a lot. Plus if the MCU were to do the original origin for the Four, then this could allow some sort of arc for Reed to make up for his mistake. That's just my say on it.
It's ironic for you to say that since I was actually trying to do something more different from the comic. At least different to the point where it's trying something new but still being familiar. I always preferred Doctor Doom to be this malevolent evil dictator who's every move is threatening, while still having a character by having very particular ideas about the world. Now that you mention 20th Century Fox is probably Doom's worst enemy. Now that Disney has control of them, and the Fantastic Four, Doom can be done justice. I do really like your pitch, but if I'm being honest, I couldn't see Doctor Doom and Magneto working together for more than five minutes before trying to kill each other. Still, the idea does have merit since Doom and Magneto working together is still a cool concept.

I didn't think much of giving Reed a character because of all the moments of poor writing where he's been a jerk or an idiot. But now that you mention it that is a good idea.
A big part of Doctor Doom's character is that he wants to make the world a better place, is fully capable of doing so, but ultimately, he won't do it. I wanted to go that route with Doom, use him a self destructive character who actually started out as a hero, but gradually becomes what he hates on a path of self destruction.
It's not like this would be the first time an adaptation had Magneto work with somebody we couldn't see him standing in the comics. The 90s X-Men cartoon, the 20 Fox movies, and X-Men Evolution had Sabertooth as one of his underlings, even though they never worked together in the comics and Magneto was actually one of the X-Men when Sabertooth debuted. The latter two also had Mystique as his right hand minion even though the two haven't actually met in the comics. Plus the MCU recently has rewritten several villains as heroes, compared to that I feel Magneto working with Doctor Doom isn't much of a stretch.
