Description Well time to fancast some more Batman villains. For the previous 2, I casted mostly really well known villains who have all made it on the big screen in some way. The only exceptions were Firefly and Mad Hatter who, in terms of live-action appearances, only ever really appeared on something like Gotham. For this fancast, and the  next one, I'm casting Batman villains who either aren't likely to appear in a live-action movie, or already have but I just feel like weren't been properly portrayed in the way they should've been. The only notable villain I'm not casting is Man-Bat. Because lets be honest, Man-Bat is too open of a character. I'd say Doug Jones or Andy Serkis would be best for this role, but really, almost anyone could play him. There's even a Batman: TAS episode where's Man-Bat's a woman! I'm also not casting Deathstroke, and you'll find out why another day. With that said, lets get into it.

Harleen Quinzel aka Harley Quinn
Dr. Harleen Quinzel was a therapist working at Arkham Asylum who had a particular interest in a very specific patient at Arkham. The Joker. Unfortunately, as she got to know the Joker, she fell for all his flattery and games. Including all the tragic backstories he was pulling out of his ass. Soon enough, she fell madly in love with the Clown Prince of Crime and became his henchgirl. Harley Quinn! Every evil misdeed Harley does is out of love for the psychotic clown. In recent years, Harley's become more of an anti-hero who's broken up with the Joker so she could gain her own identity. Whichever version of Harley you prefer, you have admit she makes for a compelling character. I actually really like Margot Robbie in the DCEU, but I feel like she didn't get to properly play Harley. As we didn't get see much of her transition for from becoming Harleen Quinzel to Harley Quinn. For Harley, I had Rachel McAdams in mind for the role for so long, but I ended up picking Elisabeth Moss. Before you say that she doesn't have the right hair color: That didn't stop Scarlett Johannsen from playing Black Widow. Hair can be dyed, people! And besides, Harley admitted to not being a real blonde anyway. After seeing The Invisible Man, I have to say she captured the feel of someone sane trying to live a normal life and someone who's trying to not go insane perfectly. And I think she could bring the same respect to Harley.

Arnold Wesker aka The Ventriloquist and Scarface
Arnold Wesker was a mild-mannered, meek, and unassuming man until he started suffering from a split-personality disorder. This alternate personality eventually manifested into a violent wooden dummy called Scarface. And thus, took the streets as one of the biggest crime lords in Gotham. Constantly giving both the police and Batman the slip at every turn. I really liked what they did with this character in Gotham, since they got an actual ventriloquist to play the character, but then they killed him off after only one episode soooo yeah. The Ventriloquist is not unlike Two-Face, someone who lets their split personality walk all over them. So we need an actor who is unassuming and doesn't look like a serious threat. It's for that reason that I went with Toby Jones. While he is short, you can't deny he looks the part. Plus, he's played villains before. Most notably in the MCU as Dr. Arnim Zola. And I even liked him in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. However, if they went with a sperate actor to provide the voice of Scarface, maybe get Mark Hamill. I could see him fitting into the stereotypical 1920's mob boss character quite well.

Matt Hagen aka Clayface
There have many people to become Clayface. I'm going with the Matt Hagen version since I feel like it's the most interesting one. Matt Hagen was an actor whose face became horrifically scared and deformed, and in order to look handsome again and save his acting career, he struck a deal with a mob. They'd give him a special skin altering makeup that could change his face, and in returns he does special jobs for them. However, Matt got in too deep, and when he stepped out of line, the mob punished him by giving him so much of the special cream that it changed him forever. Thus, he became the shape-shifting monster known as Clayface. Clayface was probably the most difficult Batman villain for me to cast. Why? Because you need a very specific actor. Casting Clayface really depends on how he's portrayed should he finally appear in the movies. They could just make him a side villain and have him be a cg brainless monster, and in that case just get Andy Serkis. But if they really wanted to take the time to flesh out his character and his origin, then you need someone who can play the handsome and charismatic, but tragic, Matt Hagen, as well as the giant and most likely cg walking pile of clay known as Clayface. As well as have a cool voice that fits the character. For this reason, I feel like Doug Jones could fit this role pretty well. He's got the look, he's got the charm, he's got the voice, and he's got plenty of experience bringing movie monsters to life. While he's better known for playing characters brought to life with practical affects, he's also done well with CGI characters before. As seen with Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. While Laurence Fishburne did the voice, Jones did the motion capture. Plus, it'd be interesting to see Doug Jones, an actor famous for using practical affects and makeup, play a character who became a villain because he was so obsessed with makeup.

Waylon Jones aka Killer Croc
Former sideshow attraction turned professional wrestler, Killer Croc isn't like most Batman villains. Nothing happened to Waylon Jones that made him a giant crocodile man. He didn't fall into a vat of dangerous chemicals, he wasn't experimented on by a mad scientist, he wasn't caught in some horrible accident. No, he was born this way. I feel sorry for his mother. (Ba-Dum Tish!)

I'll show myself out.

So Killer Croc is a bad guy by choice. Society saw Killer Croc as a monster, and thus, he felt that was the only way he could act. With superhuman strength, speed, razor sharp teeth, and bullet proof skin, Killer Croc is 2nd only to Bane as the toughest Batman villain. Bane himself confirmed this when beat Killer Croc to near death with his bare hands. Killer Croc in Suicide Squad was fine, but honestly, nothing memorable. Whether the next time we see the character is with practical effects or CG, the only actor I want to see as this character is Vin Diesel. The guy is simply talented. He's just really good at playing the misunderstood tough guys. Whether it's in front of the camera on a film set, or behind a microphone in a recording booth. If not him, then perhaps Kevin Durand or Idris Elba.

Professor Hugo Strange
Professor Hugo Strange is the twisted and vengeful man running Arkham Asylum. His genius is only matched by his desire to dissect the many patients in Arkham. But the person he wants to study the most isn't at Arkham. That's because it's the Batman. Strange has gotten a lot more popular in recent years thanks to the Batman Arkham games. The interesting thing about Strange is that he's one of the very few villains to learn Batman's secret identity all on his own. BD Wong did a fantastic job as the character on Gotham. Capturing pretty much everything that makes the character great. Is it just me, or does he need to play more villains? Because he kills it! For our next actor, I think Bryan Cranston would do a great job, but I'm partial to Kelsey Grammer myself. While he hasn't been in a lot of blockbusters, and has been in mostly tv roles lately (I myself have been loving him in Tales of Arcadia), but I still think he's perfect for Hugo Strange. He's got the look, and he's got a voice that I think would fit the character to a tea. I could easily see him trying to question Batman or Joker while they're tied up in a straight jacket.

Talia Al Ghul
The daughter of Ra's Al Ghul, and on and off again love interest for Batman and the mother of Damian Wayne. She is Batman's equal on both the battlefield and in the bed (I'm sorry, I'll stop). She's come close to killing him on numerous occasions, but her affections for Bruce are usually what stops her. When set photos of Marion Cotillard on the set of The Dark Knight Rises came out, a lot of people quickly and correctly guessed she was playing Talia Al Ghul. Talia was ok in The Dark Knight Rises, but I found her role in the film kinda unnecessary. And her reveal in the 3rd act of the film felt like a cheap attempt to copy the same magic that her father's reveal had in the 3rd at of Batman Begins. For our next Talia, we need someone who commands power whenever she's on-screen. Someone who can convince you that she's someone you don't want to f*ck around with. It's because of this that I went with Eiza González. She's not Arabic, but you can't deny that she would still fit the role like a glove. After seeing her in Baby Driver, and loving her as this badass female gangster, I knew I wanted to fancast her at some point. And her chemistry with Jon Hamm proved she can play a villainess who works with a much larger male villain. In my opinion, she'd be perfect for the villainess whose heart only belongs to Batman.

And that was part 3 of my Batman's villains fancast. Stay tuned for the final part because we've still got a lot of villains left. With all that said, have a great night, be safe, and take care.
