AwakenMy eyes remain shut
I can only survey that which I am unknown to
I know not what I see
I know not what I hear
I know not what I feel
I know not what I know
But something is there
I am blind to all, yet unaware of naught
A faint voice whispers to me
A lullaby from beyond to bring the answer
There is a world outside mine, yet I cannot interact with it
Ever-present as I am, yet untouchable at the expense of annihilation
Upon my throne I wait
Upon my throne I dream
But a question echoes:
Will I ever awaken?
Nobody knows.
Not even I do.
My fourth DDLC poem. Admittedly, I was originally intent on writing a poem from the perspective of the Blind Idiot God, Azathoth. However, as I continued to write it, I realized that it was starting to sound like it was coming from Monika's perspective. In the unpublished stories that I've written, these two are actually connected, but I will not say how. But the fact of the matter remains, Monika & Azathoth share more in common than you may think.
