This was something I made for school that I felt like sharing. It was for my digital art & design class, & the objective was to create an original cover design (or redesign, in this case) for a book that I recently read. I chose Godzilla: Dominion because I had read it not too long before this assignment, & I love drawing giant monsters, so this was going to be fun...or so I thought. Digital drawing is HARD. As I explained in my Cosmic Monika drawing that I posted, I had no tablet pen of any sort when making stuff like this due to losing it, so this was made with a mouse. Fortunately, I started with a pencil sketch that I could just work over. But even then, this was a challenge. I'm pleased with how it came out. The idea I had was that Dominion's cover art didn't really invoke the feeling of the King of the Monsters for me; it looks pretty plain, if you ask me. Not a bad drawing at all, just not dramatic enough. I made this with the intent of showing that Godzilla really does hold dominion over the Earth, so I posed him roaring at the moon with lightning striking in the background. And yes, I took a little inspiration from The Lion King with what he's standing on.
