Because of who she really is, what she's been through, & how much she means to him, Xaltor is extremely overprotective of Monika, even to the point where he exterminates those who even think about attempting to do anything negative towards her. This drawing was made to convey that possessiveness; wherever Xaltor goes, Monika goes, & wherever Monika goes, Xaltor goes. It doesn't matter where they are, but they stay together no matter what. And Monika has been known to be overly possessive, too. Their souls are perfectly in sync in that regard.
At the end of the day, I suppose it takes a yandere to love a yandere.
