Description
About the script:I don't know about you, but I've had just about enough of this:
Plugin: 'Flash' [ Loaded ]
Plugin: 'Flash' [ Initialized ]
Opening connection to: 'chat.deviantart.com'
and nothing else happening when I try to use the dAmn client. It ESPECIALLY annoys me when I know good and well I have dAmn XPCOM , and have it enabled, but instead dAmn uses Flash and I have to refresh a million times for it to actually connect.
Well, if you DO have XPCOM and you have to suffer from this infuriating bug, you don't have to worry about that anymore! This Greasemonkey script checks if XPCOM is available, and if it is, it uses it to connect to dAmn, log in, and everything else. No more of dAmn XPCOM rarely being used.

Known bugs:
Sometimes this disconnects and reconnects once or twice, I'm still trying to figure out what's going on.
NOTICE: The chat plugin does not work with FF 3.5. Wait for those lazy bastards at deviousTech to fix it, or do what `electricjonny said in the comments below.

Dude, this has been broken for years. Give up on it and use dAmn.ws instead.

Dude, this is EXTREMELY outdated. It isn't going to work, sorry. I'd suggest you try dAmn.ws instead: [link]

I have to just express my gratitude for this script. I've never been able to use dAmn whilst on my Ubuntu laptop, now that this is the only one that can get online, I've been doing without dAmn for ages. After being pointed to this, I can finally use it once again. Thanks very much!

No problem, you're not the only one having trouble with Linux and dAmn.

I have a bug.. When it used the script to force it to log in, it didn't disconnect me but it doesn't stop forcing you to join your chatroom sending the join command every second.

That's strange, I can't see what would cause that. If you join the channel specified in the url it should stop immediately.

Well for me it shows this:
Plugin: 'Flash' [ No Flash plugin ]
Plugin: 'Java' [ Probing ]
Plugin: 'Java' [ Couldn't access javascript( No Liveconnect or MAYSCRIPT ) ]
Unable to find a suitable connection method. Try connecting with Mozilla Firefox and the deviantART chat extension installed.
I have everything updated an enabled, and the chat plugin doesn't work with ff 3.5

The XPCOM extension doesn't work for Firefox 3.5, so that's most likely the reason it doesn't work.
But, you can modify the install.rdf file on the extension to make it work. Just save the extension to your hard drive, open it with a zip program, then change this line to this:
Then save the file and drag it back into the zip program to update it, and drag damnxpcom.xpi back into Firefox, and it should install and work.

Wow, it's wierd they even included that. lol. And didn't fix it (even though they probably knew about the release of 3.5 already)

Yeah, I'm guessing they just didn't have time to fix it.

Dang, I don't know much about FF 3.5... maybe the Java connection method breaks with FF 3.5. You need to remember that dAmn won't attempt to use the Mozilla extension until Force XPCOM loads. This means all the other extensions you have before it will need to load.

I hope to figure out just why...

Hmm, it worked properly when I disabled the autojoin addon. So it must conflict with that.

I think I know why...I should add autojoin to this extension to replace it.

Oh man, you're a life saver!
It seems to work pretty good, but I only tried connecting a couple times, so we'll see
