Description 18x24 Nu Pastel

Today we had a Civil war reenactor for the model. It was pretty rad. He let me hold his gun. I didn't shoot it though. Because, that's unlawful and it wasn't loaded.

I'm liking it. Some "aha" moments on this one. Some photoshop tweak. I'll make you look for 'em.

Very nice work by you! Yeah I bet his uniform was making him quite warm under the lights!

Thank you! What was interesting about this model is that we one spot light on him but left all the florescent lights on. So, there really wasn't a very strong light or dark side. But with some careful squinting it actually made them dimensions more clear. If that makes any sense. He was getting really hot under those lights too! lol! Usually models are freezing, but we had to get a fan on this guy.

It's a really nice piece, is the blur from the camera? I'd really like to see it in focus better, I think it deserves it.

You definitely right. I've got to get a good camera for these. My photos are terrible.

Nice drawing. Did you use charcoal?

Thanks. It's Nupastel. Somewhere inbetween a pastel and a charcoal. On smooth paper it smears around easily. Then you can lift off lighter areas.
