Roland got shot in the head. He's actually completely okay, seriously not even a scar he's a tough son of a gun, but he will be basically bed-ridden for weeks in order to make a full recovery.
That's where Craw comes in. See, a while back, Roland was blown up and taken hostage by a cult, and though he busted out and escaped despite having all his equipment taken from him, word still got out somehow. A friend of his, concerned by Roland's dangerous activities in regards to his age, sent a bodyguard to keep an eye on him and take care to keep him alive. Craw is a naive but trustworthy mercenary that Roland's friend hired a few years ago, and is now being reassigned to Roland himself. Craw's never worked too closely with a Rogue Trader party's higher ups, so Craw is gonna trip at the amount of money they have to spend all the fucking time, and will absolutely shit bricks when Craw learns they own a planet.
Gonna try and keep the gender ambiguous. Humans can't tell, and neither can I!

Oh, nice! It's always fun trying to keep things ambiguous. I'm impressed Roland has lasted this long! I thought 40k had a higher mortality rate than that.

Yeah it does, we've actually had a guy lose more than one character. The key is to be smart with your Fate points. Training your dodge skill also helps a lot, and plus Roland is lucky and tough as nails.
