The only problem I have with this, is the background being pixalated compared to how clean the foreground is.

As I am still studying how to make backgrounds, I used a simple image to make the character more characteristic unfortunately he had a loss of quality in the process. D:

What you could do is outline the image on a seperate transparent layer above it and fill that in with the same colours. Then use that as a background.
