Description
This is the first work of a new series, or something like that. An attempt to give an approximate view of architectural works of great beauty. Unlike the broad and distant perspective that usually I use in my work, I tried to focus on the details here, with a view from within or very close to the object represented. I hope you like it as much as I like to share with you, and please comment on, criticize and give suggestions.Related content

I think this one comes together more in small view than large.

In fact, many of my works are like this. I think that it is the effect of the parallel lines, maybe.

Is this the abbey church of St Michele? Hmn... No, the tops of the arches are wrong, just as passing resemblence, beautiful work none the less, but did you use a ruler/straight edge for the ceiling lines? I would suggest against doing that unless you use one for all straight lines, or they stand out strongly, the lines of the shadow on the ground/inside of the wall for instance have a greater natural feel to them, which is lost on the ceiling, and makes it stand out harshly. You have a very good eye for changing angles of the lines however, something which I distinctly lack but am working on, I also really like the white spaces and the darker shading of the distant cloister.

I had an old picture saved on a CD that I used as a model for the design, but had no reference about the place, unfortunately. I believe it is, however, the Museum Unterlinden.
Yes, I used a ruler, I do not normally use, but the spaces to be occupied were very large and I confess that I got a little lazy XD! Thank you for the tips and the kind comments, I'm glad you liked it, it's always great to receive such feedback.

Thank you, I am glad to know that you appreciate my style of shading. Some think it's a bit rustic, but I always liked the final result.
