Description
It has been two days since Simba, Nala and Kiara come to visit the Kongwe Lands. Nakar's mother has barely spoke a word to him after she temporarily stripped him of his royal title. He felt terrible that he upset his mom. Nakar has never liked to see her anything but happy. But, he can't help feel she was being completely unreasonable with his punishment.

Speaking of punishment, Nakar was woken up by a heavy object early in the morning. Whatever this thing was it wouldn't stop shaking him.

"Nakar! Come on you gotta get up! Dad wants us out of the den in a few minutes!"

Nakar turned his head and cracked one eye open. Behm was bright eyed and bushy mane this morning. Correction, he was like this every morning but he was very extra today.

Nakar groaned, "Behm, you're too loud. You're going to wake everyone up. And stop pushing me."

Behm laughed, "Sorry, I'm too excited. It's been so long since you and I had lessons together. It'll be like when we were kids again, following dad around."

Nakar let out a yawn as he got up and stretched. He winced a little and rubbed the side on his face. It was still a little sore there from when Kiara hit him.

Behm made his way out of the den with Nakar following sluggishly behind him.

"Behm, you are still a kid," Said Nakar.

"Okay technically, but I'm talking about when we were cubs. We'd walk with dad all over the land and you and I would try to guess what animal we were going to see next." Behm sighed, "I had a lot of fun on those lessons with you."

Nakar didn't say anything. He just nodded his head.

The two brothers soon found their father waiting under a nearby tree. Izem had been awake for a while now. He had just returned from patrolling the land. Nakar and Behm sat in front of Izem. Behm looked like he was about to be told the greatest story there ever was. He could barely sit still. Nakar looked like he was about to take a long 23 hour nap.

"Lessons will start today for the both of you," Said Izem. "Behm, for you these lessons are new. For you Nakar, this will be a refresher you need."

Behm looked at his brother and father confused.

Izem held up his paw. "I know your question Behm. The lessons you and Nakar will be learning are Royal Duties of a King. I'm assuming Nakar hasn't told you yet, but he has been stripped of his royal title of Prince. Which also strips him of the title of Future King. These are the consequences of your brother's actions from the other day with Kiara."

Nakar turned away from his father. He knew Behm was going to find out soon but it was still humiliating.

"Behm, with the role of Future King not being filled, the position goes to you. That is why you are here learning these lessons." Said Izem.

"B-But Nakar is supposed to be King. Not me. What's going to happen to him?" Behm asked. He looked at Nakar with worry in his eyes.

"Your brother has a chance to regain the title, but to do that he must complete his lessons again. He must also be seen as fit for the role by your mother and I. It is up to Nakar whether or not he will take this seriously. If he does not complete his lessons or is seen as not fit by both your mother and I, then you will be next in line as King, Behm."

Behm was speechless. This was a lot to take in so early in the morning and lessons haven't even started yet. Nakar wouldn't look at him. He must be upset with him now that his little brother took his royal title he's had since birth.

Izem stood up. "It's time to start. We will be checking up on some families today and talking to them about their worries and concerns and how we can solve them." Izem started to walk toward their first destination.

Behm began to follow his father but stopped when he noticed Nakar wasn't moving from his spot.

"Hey, we gotta start moving. Dad's not going to wait for us," Said Behm.

Nakar didn't budge and he still wouldn't look at his little brother.

Behm sighed, "You heard what dad said. It's up to you to get your title back. I'm really sorry they took it away from you but if you're this upset over it then you need to prove yourself to them that you deserve it. I don't want the title but I'm still going to the lessons and learn. I know you're probably mad at me but the least you can do it stand up and follow dad. That's the first steps in proving them that you want to do this and prove them wrong. Please. Just follow for a little bit so you can then lead for years."

Nakar still didn't speak but he got up and waited for Behm to lead the way.

Behm smiled at his big brother, "Thank you."

The two started to catch up with their father.

"I'm not mad at you." Said Nakar.

"That's good to hear," Said Behm.

Izem took his sons around the land. They talked to a couple of families as they went through lessons. They eventually made their way to a Fennec Fox den. A mother Fox with her son and daughter came out of their den to greet the royal family. As the mother was explaining to the king about the food shortage her family is struggling with, Behm was making friends with her daughter. The fox pups have never been this close to lions before or any big animal for that matter. Behm was answering questions the daughter was asking him. Meanwhile, Nakar lounged on the rocks as he waited for the lessons to be over with. He paid attention to everything his father was saying and watched Behm get more and more excited throughout the day, but he felt like there wasn't much he could do right now.

As Nakar sat with a bored look on his face the fox son was inching ever so slowly to him. Just like his sister, he was curious about the lions but he was more cautious. Just when the fox got almost right beside his face, Nakar pulled away from him.

"Can I help with with something?" Nakar asked the pup with an annoyed tone.

The pup shrank away from him. "N-No. I-I was just trying to see your teeth. Mama says they're much larger than ours."

Nakar smirked. "She's right. Do you want to see?"

The young pup nodded his head. Nakar opened up his mouth so that the fox could see all his teeth. The fox pup made his way slowly back to Nakar again. But as soon as he got close to him, Nakar snapped his jaw shut and at the the poor pup. The son let out a scream and fell backwards onto the grass. Nakar laughed at his little prank.

"Nakar!"

Nakar stopped and looked at the owner of the voice. His father was glaring at him. Nakar looked down at the fox pup that laid on the ground. He had small tears in his eyes.

Nakar sighed once again and helped the pup back up. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. Especially since you've never seen a lion this close before." Nakar lifted the side of his mouth to show his teeth from a far enough distance where the pup could still see them. "My teeth are larger than yours. Extremely larger. It's because I hunt bigger prey than you do. Your teeth are for small rodents such as mice. Mine are for zebra and larger animals."

The pup perked up, "Wow! You can take down a zebra? I wanna hunt a zebra! Can you teach me?"

The pup's sister then joined in the conversation. "I want to take down a zebra too!"

Behm laughed at the situation his brother has gotten himself into. "I'm sure Nakar can give you some tips. Can't you brother."

Nakar smirked at Behm. "Of course. Better yet, why give tips when I can give a demonstration. I'll be the lion hunting the poor zebra and you can be the poor zebra."

"Ha ha....... What?"

All of a sudden, Nakar tackled Behm and pinned him on the ground.

"Now see kids. You want to attack when the prey isn't expecting it. Next you want to go for it's weak spots where the prey can't hurt you when it fights back. One of you go for the ears and the other go for the mane."

The pups followed Nakar's orders and helped attack Behm.

"No please, I'm just a poor zebra trying to eat some delicious grass!"

The attack went on for a few more minutes. Behm at some point got the two fox pups to turn on Nakar and start trying to take him down. The two pairs of siblings were having fun. Nakar was having fun. He couldn't remember the last time he felt like a kid again. But like always, the fun had to come to an end.

"Alright boys. It's almost afternoon. I promised your mother we'd be back before then." Said Izem.

The fox pups and Behm whined. Behm promised the two pups that he'd play with them again another day. They even convinced Nakar to promise them too.

The king and his sons said goodbye to the Fennec Fox family.

"You did well today boys. We'll have more lessons tomorrow." Said Izem.

Behm nudgedh his body against Nakar. " I had fun today. Those fox pups though, gosh they may have tiny teeth but they are sharp." He rubbed is one ear the little girl pup got ahold of.

Nakar laughed, "Yeah, those two are going to be a handle full when they get older."

"You got that right. But hey, maybe they'll leave us alone since we're their friend now."

Nakar was taken back. Friends? With those tiny creatures? Yes, he did talk to them. Yes, he did give them hunting lessons which then turned into a game. Yes, he had fun.

Yes, Nakar made a friend today. He hadn't had a friend in a very long time.
