Here is a picture of the sub-boss of NailMan's stage: HammerMan"It's hammer time!" ^_^
Fun Facts:
- HammerMan was originally a Robot Master among the many robots I designed when I was a kid.
- When I originally made the "MegaMan 10" art for the CAPCOM MegaMan contest, I threw HammerMan in there as a kind of joke because it was pretty obvious that Hammer Man would be NailMan's weakness.
- When I decided to make the actual game (MMU), I replaced HammerMan with CometWoman because the game needed more variety in designs for the Robot Masters. Having Glue, Nail and Hammer would be really stupid. Plus, I didn't think HammerMan had a lot of possibilities of attacks as a Robot Master. His hammer head needed to be bigger so that he can actually attack with it, so I turned him into a sub-boss. That way people who liked him can still see him in action and we have a more varied cast of Robot Masters.

Oh man, I remember how that one guy went totally nuts after seeing, that HammerMan won't be an RM in MMU, I think Payson was his nickname? Had a bunch of good laughs with that , must have been annoying for you though.

I think you did the best choice! There were already too many "industrial" bots as they were, Comet Woman seems more... "natural," I'm not talking just about RM like Hornet Man or Plant Man but also like Galaxy Man and Gravity Man, based off things in nature. To be honest, at first I would have prefered if the one ditched was Nail man than Hammer man but I'm growing fond of Nail man now LOL.

OMG! What if--just go with me here--when you Refight the bosses and you enter Nail Man's capsule,you have to fight Hammer Man first before taking on Nail Man! Eh? Whaddaya think?

I once had my own idea for a Hammer Man. He was a Robot Master who wielded a sledge hammer, obviously designed to smash rocks. His main battle tactic is to throw the hammer then dash over to pick it up. That might make him sound easy, but he's a clever robot who will try to jump over your shots and will slide under you if you jump.
I was planning to make him part of a new set of Cossack numbers because, well, you know about the Russians and the hammer and sickle and whatnot. He wasn't the best idea I've had, but I think he was kind of cool. And this picture reminded me of him.
Didn't you say before that Comet Woman replaced Glue Man? Regardless, she's easily one of your best designs.

The perspective on the feet and head really throw me off, but this is a nice change in pace from your other artwork.
I would still be cautious with your lines though. The curves are not as bad as before, but they still need some work. Why not just use something like the pen tool and get a more even curve? The jittery-ness really throws away any shot at looking professional.

I like this guys design, it makes a change from the basic, stage related, minibosses you get in most Mega Man games.
Not sure about Top Man and his cat though.

It would have been cool if Nailman's weapon had combined with Hammerman's weapon after beating Nail man. The combined weapon would create two arcing shots that meet at the end. But it's too late for that right?

It's cool that he's still going to be in the game. I like his design, but the robot master line-up did feel somewhat plain with him in there.

I agree. It's not the best design ever. That's one of the reasons why he's not a RobotMaster anymore. ^_^
