Out of curiousity how did Alex and Clover get long hair without doing anything. All I see is a comic strip jump

The Van Der Graaf made Clover's hair longer as she got closer to it, so it works like that.

I also noticed in the 2nd to last image, Alex's hair had a little more volume. A sign that it was growing out (like it did), or she used a new conditioner.
