Hi, figured that since this is messier piece that I should go ahead an upload it.

Anyway, I thought it fun to attempt a more realistic, although not that realistic in terms of design, version of beetle in the same sort of a style as the rock afire animatronics.
My thought process for translating his markings was to simply have sections of different fur colors. The head gets two different colors because my brain thought that it would be two different sections? I don’t think that’s correct for an actual animatronic like that but oh well. The arms are one color and dark instead of leading up to being dark.
His wings are likely only able to flap(?) if they’re able to move at all.
The face is heavily airbrushed, much more than would be typical of course. Unless I’m mistaken about how they shade those things.
I made his eyes glow but in reality I just don’t think they’d do that if he were actually to be made. Or maybe they would, I don’t know.

Overall, really fun to do as it was pretty loose. Sometimes I just don’t feel like making something really polished.
