Description
Kumonga's bio card. Let's face it, we need more non-humanoid monsters, and Kumonga fits the bill rather nicely. The only real problem I forsee with him is his width - those eight legs would make it hard to maneuver around a crowded metropolis like New York or Tokyo. But, like Mogera's (lack of) speed, I don't think it's so large of a problem that Kumonga should be excluded because of it. Plus, he's the only monster that'd look natural doing those weird lunar-gravity jumps the monsters do in Unleashed.Related content

Not to sound repetitive or disrespectful but I would've put Kumonga as an Earth Defender not because of the role it plays as either hero or villain in the movies but because of its natural origins. The Earth Defenders were natural-born animals that lived on earth at one time or another and were mutated into monsters. Some of them were born the way they were. Even though they're monsters, they still retain their natural animal instincts. Kumonga was only ever an enemy to Godzilla because Godzilla was another predator in its territory. Plus as far as we know, Kumonga is a natural Kaiju like Mothra or King Ceasar. It was stated to be a giant long before the island it was on was irradiated. Also if monsters' factions were decided by their actions and roles in movies then Biollante would've been an Earth Defender despite not being a natural being from birth.

I realize you posted this a while ago, but here's an answer anyway: I made these back in... 2007? Whenever Godzilla: Unleashed was coming out. You'd have just as much making your own templates as I would recreating them.

To everyone saying that Kumonga should be an Earth Defender. I disagree. He'd fit better in the Mutant's. He was only Godzilla's ally in Destroy All Mosnter's. The rest of the films he appeared in though he was an enemy. So it makes sense for him to be in the Mutant's.

Perhaps Kumonga's special ability would be to climb over the buildings like a spider to make up for its width. It sure would give the monster some enhanced mobility around the map, also making up for its lack of offensive options in comparison to the other monsters. It sure would be interesting to play as this giant spider.

I honestly agree that Kumonga should be considered an Earth Defender. There are only two instances where he/she is acting of its own free will. When it attacks Godzilla and Manilla, (because of hunger as well as never encountering them before) and when it joins all the others in battling Ghidorah. Also its implied that it lives peacefully with the others on monster island when not being mind controlled. Plus, how many spider heroes are there out in popular fiction. Maybe Kumonga could lead either one way or the other toward mutants or Earth Defender, but the fact that its given the background to fit as a good guy should definitely be taken advantage of.

I think of Kumonga as more of a Earth Defender myself, seeing as he was in the monster army in DAM.

Kumonga was only Godzilla's ally in Destroy All Monster's. The rest of the movie's Kumonga appeared in. He was an enemy to Godzilla. So it makes more sense for him to be a Mutant.

Kumonga may have been in the DAM army, but remember that all the Earth monsters were being mind controlled into attacking the Kilaaks and fighting Ghidorah. So it could've been Destoroyah or Hedorah or SpaceGodzilla, and they'd have been acting like good guys. On his own, Kumonga is definitely Mutant material.

Um I have to disagree on that MegaZero, remember the humans were only able to break the mind control, but they certainly didnt make Godzilla and his army do the fighting.
As I recall it was said that Godzilla rallied the other monsters and met them at the spot King Ghidorah was going to appear, the humans didnt even know KG was even there to begin with aswell as their underground base which Godzilla destroyed under his own will.
Also the kaiju all returned to Monster Island peacefully and with out conflict.

The whole point of the Fire Dragon attacking Monsterland and destroying the command center was to get rid of the humans' mind control device for the monsters. There's several lines of dialogue by several characters that clearly tell us that Dr. Yoshida and the others on Monsterland are directly controlling the Earth monsters for the final fight.

No disrespect at all but I guess the humans made Rodan leave the fight too, and if the commandcenter was destroyed then why did Godzilla and the others return to Monster Island?
I really dont like getting into arguments with others, Im just going to watch the movie again, Im a hardcore Godzilla fan but its been awhile since I have watched DAM.

if you ask me kumonga and kamacuras are mutants. in SON OF GODZILLA there is a science team who is researching strange weather patterns. not to mention there were traces of large amounts of oxygen in the islands atmosphere. and the only reasons bugs are as small as they are is beacause they need so much oxygen just to live, and theywould need hurricane like conditions just to be the size of a horse. so YES kumonga and kamacuras would be mutants

He should've been an earth defender, but mutant also kinda makes ssense, with the eternal hunger and all. and i agree, Kumonga should have the best jumps in the whole game (if he existed.), as in perhaps half the other monster's jump distance. Stats: Attack, 5/8, Defence, 2/8, Speed, 7/8, and weapon is stun web(tap c). Special ability; A+b+c+z at the same time = Super Jump, twice as far as normal jump

I designed a bio for Kumonga along with a move list. I gave him the special ability jump over large buildings, but I sacrificed his water mobility by making him utterly useless in water. Can't make him too powerful. Lol.
