I MEANT to have this done by Valentine's Day, but... OH WELL!

Ok, this is MORE Les Misérables fanart I regret nothing! , this time focusing on the love shared between Marius and Cosette

I adore these guys; they're so ridiculously cute...

Now, before I get into the picture itself, I have something to get off my chest:

I know a lot of people are quick to hate on these guys as a couple for one main reason... they fall in love in, like... a DAY; that whole love-at-first-sight thing doesn't happen much any more, and when it does it rarely works out. btw in the BOOK, Marius saw her, stalked followed her, and they met in the course of THREE days, and THEN decided they loved each other

I mean, you JUST MET THE PERSON! It's stupid! What if later on you find something out about the person that makes you not love them? So much can go wrong!

And while I do understand that reasoning, I also believe it would totally work. Why?

Because we, the audience/reader/viewer KNOW Cosette and Marius' past... We know their likes and dislikes, we know their personalities, we know EVERY TRAIT about these characters... even if they don't know those traits right away, they WILL find those traits about each other... given that fact... what is it about these two that wouldn't work?

I gotta tell ya, I can't find anything about the other that would drive them apart and have that whole love at first sight idea crumble; they have nothing to hide or anything like that.

Also, some people say Cosette is bland and/or too perfect... I see nothing wrong with believing in the best of humanity; she's had troubled past, but doesn't live on that. She lives in the present and she offers forgiveness, kindness, and a sense of joy to all she meets... in my mind, a character doesn't have to be brooding to be interesting.

Marius can be a bit over-emotional, but Cosette is a great reciprocate of practically anything!
Is it unrealistic?
Well, no, because goodness can exist; just because we don't see it often doesn't mean it isn't there, nor does it make her unrelatable or uninteresting.

I had a lot of fun with their pose and expression in this one
I know Marius' back looks... odd... but, I'm content with this!
