Description
I love new characters. It is so much fun to draw this one... so you get like 12 drawings.
And I need to practice expressions, cuz I suck at them. And consistency. I can see differences in face shape and whatnot here, so obviously more practice is needed.

Name: the Wildcat (no given name available)
Gender: Male (!)
Age: 21-23 (it says 35, but... that went downhill fast...)
Element: Dark/Earth
Abilities: dark mage, night vision, balance, always lands on his feet
Likes: Rare meat, cats, Aku, catnip (how embarrassing!), and for some reason pasta
Dislikes: the mages who tested on him, sitting still, enclosed spaces

Bio: The Wildcat is, unfortunately for him, an unwilling lab rat. He was born the youngest son of the Eighth House of the magic-using community; that is to say, his family is the newest and poorest of the magical "nobility" (not that they'd use those terms). He was captured by the opposing side of the magical civil war when he was seventeen and has been imprisoned ever since. During the first few months, the Wildcat - born a middle-strength dark mage - was tested on by their mages, who were attempting to replicate the abilities of one of the best mages in the war. Their experiments involved adding a significant amount of earth magic to his natural dark power. This had killed a number of other subjects, either because they couldn't handle more magic than they already held or because earth magic interfered with their birth element. However, for some reason, the Wildcat's body accepted the magic, though the shock made him crazy for months thereafter. He has only scattered memories of this period, but when he regained his sanity, he could vaguely recall blood.

The extra magic had some drastic side effects, most obviously the physical change that his body had to go through to adapt to his new power. Had he been born an earth mage, the differences would have been much more subtle. His eyes, ears, and fangs aren't the only change - he has also picked up a lot of feline tendencies and abilites, earning him the name Wildcat. He has also doubled in magical power, thanks to the shot of magic he received. This, together with his feral instincts, has definitely made the experiment backfire on the mages who dared tamper with him. After a couple of guards were stupid enough to get within range of his claws, no others would go close enough to try anything else. They eventually sedated him from a distance and tossed him into a prison cell, where he has remained ever since, biding his time and taking his anger out on anyone unfortunate enough to share a cell with him. Even with his magic sealed, the Wildcat is a dangerous enemy.

His most recent cellmate would have ended the same way if not for that person's pride and courage in the face of death at the sharp end of the Wildcat's claws. From the moment Aku spat, "Just kill me," the Wildcat was quite sure that this would be the team that could escape the complex. It worried him that Aku was a skinny kid with a temper quicker than a fire mage's, but looks could be deceiving. And the Wildcat always trusted his instincts...
